Re: Does anyone else keep a bible on thier Wiccan alter?
what kind?
Beyond one's own mind there is no dazzling light to come shining in from outside to wake one up. If one recognizes one's own intrinsic State as pure from the beginning and only temporarily obscured by impurities, and if one maintains the presence of this recognition without becoming distracted, then all the impurities dissolve. This is the essence of the Path-namkhai norbu.

Why is there a legend about the descent of Christ into hell? The Teacher addressed the lower strata of the astral world, saying: Why, by cherishing earthly thoughts, bind oneself eternally to Earth? And many revolted in spirit and rose higher.

Most recently it's been The Scriptures, by the Institute for Scripture Reasurch. It used to be a King James.

Christian Wiccan? A.K.A. the Trinitarian Tradition.

[link to www.amazon.com]

I went to this from being a fundamentalist Christian. Then I went headlong into paganism (with an emphasis on the Norse-Germanic tradition, but still very eclectic). Then I went back to Christian. For me, it's more about finding truth than anything else (hence what appears to be confusion).

In all reality, a Christian Wiccan is very much a Gnostic Christian (not that I am trying to group them all together) with a few variations (depending on the individual). For instance, some might still believe in a physical Yashuah (Jesus).

Are you a Christian Wiccan, or a polytheist that includes Yashuah in your belief system?

 Quoting: Garphoo

Wicca is a creation of Gerald Gardner with the help of Aleister Crowley. Anyone who researchs Wicca can quickly discover that it is a manufactured belief system created out of the watered-down and ancient pagan traditions from around the world but heavily leaning toward the revived Celtic or Anglo-Saxon pagan traditions.

At present it's just about maintaining spiritual peace. I got into it quit a few years ago when I was going through some major trials, partly about fighting fire with fire, partly about finding truth when the world that surrounded me was quit insane. The bible is only a few thousand years old, the old religions go much farther back.

I debated saying "wiccan alter" or "pagan alter". Not sure I would know the difference. Nor do I know what a polytheist is. I do believe in Yashuah though.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 782729

A monotheist believes in 1 God (these include unitarians and trinitarians and also I suppose those who believe in a dualistic single God). A polytheist believes in many gods or goddesses.

A pagan would not call their self a wiccan, but a wiccan usually loves to identify as pagan. Though the word "pagan" is actually the broader term. The term pagan is really all encompassing. It would include wiccans, druids, and any tradition that uses magic(k) (according to the modern usage of the word anyway). Generally, it is understood to be religions that are not monotheistic and/or that do not subscribe exclusively to the monotheistic God of either Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. Paganism, truly is a broad and confusing term. Too many people use it to mean beyond what it was meant to mean (hence my inability to properly define it for you - just using Webster's is not good enough anymore).

What do you believe?

I do believe in one supreme creator. I also believe that there are lessor gods and goddesses. The very beautiful goddess Athena helped me through some of my more difficult times. She identified herself to me when I was more closely linked to the spiritual side, I still miss feeling her presence.

Getting back to reality was a big part of my survival. I had to have a life here in the real world. I have had out of body experiences. Astral travel would be cool. If not in this life, maybe next.

You are definitely a polytheist who believes in a Pantheon. You might want to check this article out: [link to en.wikipedia.org]

Only you know your beliefs well enough to know whether or not you identify with one of its various branches such as monlatrism or kethenotheism.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Also, if you do not believe these gods and goddesses are actual entities then you may also be a pantheist. [link to en.wikipedia.org]

or a panentheist. [link to en.wikipedia.org]

Of course, you might not choose to identify with any of the above. Just giving you something to think about.

Actually I don't give a rats ass what wikipedia says about anything. Sorry to be blunt but the hundreds of labels the world has put on reality has only watered it all down to nothing. By the way I don't observe "christmas", it was made up in what, the fourth or fifth century and has nothing to do with anything. I did decide to cook a nice rib roast on friday however, just because I have the day off and everything will be closed and it sounded like a good idea this year. Think I'll make some fettucini alfredo with it. My son and his girlfriend think it sounds good!

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 671390

"Barashith Bara Elohim" (Torah / Pentateuch / start of Genesis in OT)

Which for some inane reason seems to always be translated as something like "In the beginning, God (singular) created..."

But which is really "the Gods..." Elohim is plural. and since literally ANYONE of even a slightly higher vibration than this hell-hole would appear to you to be a "god") "the Gods -THOUGHT- and thus brought into creation / materialized out of the higher vibrational source / crystallized / precipitated / manifested in lower vibration / etc , [that which will be subsequently referred to as] (and is clearly separate from, and a lower vibration than, the Source) ... (heaven and earth)(or whatever)

Quite literally, a bunch of higher vibrational entities (oft referred to here as Elohim) were dispatched to this neck of the woods (this particular multidimensional vibrational universe) to cause the seeding of that which we call stars/planets/galaxies/etc/including dark matter.

Later other groups were dispatched to seed various lifeforms as an experiment, and to watch their evolution. (both seeding and evolution occurred and can easily be recognized around you.)

There has been an endless chain of meddling, if you will, with planetary affairs by various higher vibrational entities, and by the spawn of other results of seedings elsewhere in this Universe.

There is one Source, many Gods.

However, you only have one "God" at the apex of your pyramid. but a ton of very intelligent entities in between.

Nurture your gift of discernment. All are NOT alike. Some have much more Understanding, than others.

Lack of understanding is what you would call evil, though what you DO call evil is simply someone who scares you.
