Are they insane? As if knowing that your law-abiding neighbor has a gun is even remotely a problem for anyone who isn't a pantywaste pinko commie. This is actually good, in a way. Besides guaranteeing more gun sales among the good guys, it will also guarantee that the pinkos stay out of decent, God-fearing American neighborhoods. Unintended consequences, indeed. If you live in Indiana, don't wait. Make sure you get yourself a gun before they publish this list. You can pretty much guarantee you'll never have to use it, because all the criminals will be heading next door to rob your liberal neighbor. TANSTAAFL |

Make that sticker available for people to put on their front doors ... that way the criminals would know who was unarmed and not likely to resist! That's effectively what the Herald-Times is doing. Unfortunately, all those unarmed people don't have a say in the matter. These journalists are so afraid of guns, and think that everybody who owns a gun is a potential threat to them, that they willingly and blindly endanger all the non-gun owning citizens of their own state. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 730810There is no gun registration in Indiana, or most other states. The only records that are supposed to be kept are the 4473 forms (background check questionnaire), by the retail establishment from which the gun was purchased. The state and federal governments are prevented by law, supposedly, from compiling those forms and data. What they want to publish is the list of concealed carry permit holders. |

I would imagine it would be pretty close to zero, excepting a rare domestic issue. Last Edited by Revbo on 12/02/2009 02:46 PM TANSTAAFL |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 826146 United States 12/02/2009 02:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First time you buy a gun in Indiana you need ID. Now if I buy a shotgun at Walmart,to hunt on my own property,no permit is needed. If I need my hand gun/shotgun repaired, going to a firing range (or any other reason I take it off my land) I will need a consealed permit to drive to the repair store. |
