I look at it as an adventure myself as there is nothing you can do about it - it will happen to you in the end.

I just want it quick with no suffering for months on end.

I've honestly never understood why so many people are scared of dying...unless it's the process of dying -- pain, or what not, which scares them. But, being dead is either one of two things:

a) you're simply worm food

or

b) there's some kind of wonderful after-life.

I suppose if you believe in hell, it would suck...but does anyone really believe in that still?

I remember being so afraid of death I'd be unable to breath, just thinking about it, the unknown of it. But that was when I hadn't learned anything about the afterlife and just had the christian view of it, which is so uncertain and unknown. It is mostly fear of the unknown, and the inevitability of heading into something UNKNOWN that will last FOREVER and FOREVER that scares people. I'd better stop thinking about it actually.

"forever" in "after life" means a "moment"

so by earth standard time you can be in "after life" for 1 minute of earth time and this "moment" can stretch out on the other side.

If I die and that is all there is I wont know Im dead therefore nothing to fear.

If I die and 'live on' some how, well that will be awesome. Even if it is hell or whatever. At least Im still conscious.

As long as Im conscious there will be a chance. A chance to escape, or rage against the machine, or whatever.

Good point. It's the same as when you sleep at night, for say, 8 hours. You close your eyes, fall asleep, and if you sleep straight through, you open your eyes after 8 hrs as if it were a milisecond.

so, no one should be afraid of being gone 'forever'..first of all, what is forever? I mean, who really knows if there is such a thing? And, even if you're dead for a billion years or 1 minute, it will still "feel" like a blink in time.

There can't be no life without death. I don't know why people are so scared of facing death. There is no way to escape it, so why be scared??? It won't do you any good, so just live for the day and try to be happy as much as possible. Your days are being numbered...

Death isn't scary.

It's just like totally bombed-out sleep that you can't remember.

The process of dying can be very scary, though.

Re: Do you look at Death as an adventure or scared stiff off it?
Can't really say how I view death.

I don't want to die because of my children and my husband; I want to be there to see my children graduate from high school, graduate from college, graduate from medical school. I want to cry at their wedding and be there when their children are born.

I want to share all these memories with my husband, I want to grow old with him. But when I do go, I believe it will be an adventure, just one that I can wait to experience.
