Re: Increase In post-apocalyptic Dreams
Nice thread. Last nights dream was we had to get somewhere fairly quick. There was a wide stair descending to a lit tunnel and it was the only way in. I asked where we were and someone said, Montana. I remember saying, I never been to Montana. There were ppl walking around wearing ragged and dirty clothes. The streets were bare and lined with dilapidated store fronts. It was then I realized we were there to barter for parts to build something but I dont recall what that was.

Re: Increase In post-apocalyptic Dreams
I stumbled on your site and thought I'd share some dreams that I had between the age of 16-20 ('90-'94). They were one dream per year (each occurring randomly in each year) and religious in nature, grant it, I grew up in a normal home and reluctantly went to church every Sunday like most normal people do as a child (i.e. - I wasn't overly religious). I've sometimes wondered if others might have had similar dreams, and became even more spooked with the ending of the movie 'Knowing' in 2008, because the events it portrayed were very similar to the final dream I had in '94, making me wonder even more if others had similar dreams...

I grew up in a relatively small town in Texas of about 100k population.

Dream #1 (age 16, '90) - Open your Eyes
I was walking with my younger brother to a corner store a few blocks away from our house, and as we walked, I looked towards the west and noticed flames all along the western horizon. As we continued walking, a dirt-devil swept by and blinded us temporarily. As the dirt cleared, and we could see again, we were no longer in the our home town, but in a large city with sky scrapers (like New York). As we stood there, baffled, we felt an earthquake, and concerned for my younger brother, I looked for the nearest dumpster to jump into and hope that it would protect us from any falling debris. Once the shaking stopped, we climbed out of the dumpster to find the city flattened, all the sky scrapers were now mounds of rubble. That's when I awoke.

As a side note: Later that day I told my next door neighbor (my friend) about the dream while we were hanging out. He then told his father who is a preacher, and his father asked to speak with me. His father showed me parts of Revelations, stating that the things I saw in my dream were some of the signs mentioned. He then showed me a different part of the bible, Act 2:17 concerning dreams and visions in end times, and told me that I should prepare myself.

Dream #2 (age 17, '91) - Forewarning...
In this dream, there where troubling scenes being broadcast by the news on TV. They started to show wars occurring left and right. People were killing each other, man against man, brother against brother. They then interrupted the broadcast, to tell the people of a weird phenomena occurring throughout the world. People in other parts of the world were all of a sudden losing their minds and simply wondering around (almost zombie like), repeatedly saying 'He's coming' in a sort or morbid tone of voice. When I heard this, my mind told me that they were talking about Satan, and I decided to do some research in order to protect myself. After quite of bit of sleuthing, and what appeared to be someone or something attempting to stop me, I finally learned of a book which contained the answers I sought, though most people who knew of the book warned me to avoid it. When I was finally able to get my hands on a copy of the book, I was about to open it, but then I woke up before being able to see even the first word.

As a side note: The fact that I woke up, was what made this dream peculiar. It was the middle of the night, no one had interrupted my sleep. There was not the slightest noise coming from anywhere, and my eyes just opened, though nothing had startled me. As if I had merely blinked. Whatever was in that book, good or bad, something didn't want me to see it...

Dream #3 (age 18, '92) - The Answer!
In this dream, once again I was watching the news. Again there were reports left and right of wars, murders, fighting, etc., but this time the discord had began to occur in the U.S. as well. Once again, there was the report of the people walking around aimlessly (zombie-like) saying 'He's coming' over and over. My friends and I became concerned about the alarming increase in events and spoke to each other to try to make sense of it all. Before we knew it though, the 'zombie-like' state began to affect some of the local population. My friends and I decided to gather all camping gear we could get and head out to the nearest wooded area to hide out until this blew over. Everything worked out fine in the woods for a couple of days, but then one of our friends returned to the camp in the 'zombie-like' state. The rest of my friends, frightened, fled. I now found myself alone in the woods. As I wondered around, from a distance, I saw a girl walking towards me. I found myself trapped by her gaze. Once she was in front of me, she spoke to me, but I did not hear what she said, for I was still entranced by her eyes. Before I knew it though, I blinked, and before me was Satan himself (i.e. the girl was Satan in disguise). But for some odd reason, I was not scared, nor angry, nor upset, or any other emotional state of mind that one might be in if Satan was in front of them. I was completely calm and at ease. I simply looked at Satan, and with a calm but sure voice, I told him to leave me alone. Satan look at me with a confused expression and without saying anything, he left.

As a side note: The answer I took from this dream was that in order to prepare for the end, one must believe in God and have no fear, and that emotions are what feed the devil. If you truly believe in God, then you know that He will protect you, and thus nothing can touch you, for nothing is stronger than God. Of course, this is relating to the spiritual self (which is most important since it is eternal) and not necessarily to the physical self (which is just temporary).

Dream #4 (age 19, '93) - The Test...
In this dream, I found myself in a robe, walking down a dirt road of an ancient city. There were empty carts around me and the streets seemed empty. As I walked, I met a local walking down the street as well, and I asked where I was and why the streets were empty. He then asked me, 'Oh, are you here to see the crucifixion of the supposed King of the Jews?' When he said this, I was startled. He simply told me to follow road I was on and that I would run into the crowd further down. I ofcourse wondered, am I actually going to witness the crucifixion of Christ? As I walked down the road, I saw a large temple like building, with stairs leading towards two rather large wooden doors which were open. The size of the building caught my curiosity and I decided to look inside. As I took my 1st step in, I saw a few people here and there, and from their garb realized it was a religious building. I was about to leave to continue to the crucifixion, when the church began to shake. As I looked around, the people were now running out past me, fleeing for their lives. I too was about to turn and leave, when I noticed a hooded man sitting in the temple, whom I had not seen before. This man apparently noticed me, for he motioned me with his hand to come sit next to him. I of course, thinking of my life, decided not to and turned around to leave. Just as I did this, the temple stopped shaking. Seeing that my life was no longer in danger, I turned to see what the man wanted, but he no longer was there. I did notice the door in the back of the temple had been parted open before I woke up.

As a side note: To begin with, this dream was a 'realistic' dream, i.e. I felt like it was really happening, all of my sense were working properly. I did ask my father about this dream when I woke up, and he showed me in the bible where it speaks of the events that occurred once Christ died on the cross. And since when one dies, their spirit leaves the body, I realized that the hooded man must have been Christ doing as he had said he would do and parted the doors concealing the Arc to indicate that God's covenant was now for everyone and not just the Hebrews. This of course meant that Christ had asked me to not be concerned for my life and to join him (i.e. - if you truly believe in God, you have nothing to fear for He will protect you). Which is the reason I titled this 'The Test' because I felt that I was being tested to see if I understood the answer given in the prior dream. A test which I unfortunately failed...

Dream #5 (age 20, '94) - Hope for the Future
In this dream, I found myself floating in space looking at the earth. There was voice behind me speaking to me, and somehow I knew it was a servant of God. We began to have a conversation, and one point I realized that I could ask any question and that he would answer it. I asked him about the end time and if everyone was going to die. He replied 'Yes'. I asked him how? At this point, he and I proceeded to the earth's surface, and what I saw, was horrific. Everything was destroyed. Bodies were laying everywhere, and everything charred and burned. At this point, he turned my attention to one of the bodies. As I saw it, it turned to dust, and then a gust of wind blew it away layer by layer. This happened to all the bodies I saw. Then he and I returned to space, overlooking the earth as before. I then asked him if that was it, was there anything else after that, were we going to be given another chance? He said 'Yes, once more'. At this point, he and I once again returned to the surface of the earth, but this time, the earth was reborn. Everything was green, trees were everywhere, animals were running here and there, and the streams were clear as the sky. I then felt a gust of wind, and with it, it carried dust. The dust began to collect and started forming human bodies. The dust then turned to organic material, and the bodies stood up and walked away. At this point, he and I returned back to space overlooking the earth, and he waited for me to ask another question, but before I could, I was awakened by my friend knocking at my door...

As a side note: When I saw the movie 'Knowing' in '08, I was shocked, for the ending of the earth it depicted with the solar flare burning the earth, would have matched the image I saw when God's servant and I returned to the surface of the earth the 1st time. And though the movie has those chosen being taken to another world, the green world they went to would have resembled the reborn earth I saw the 2nd time. Thus making me wonder if others had had the same dream I had all those years ago...

On a final note: I have told these dreams to friends and acquaintances through the years, but more as party favors, never really taking them serious. After watching 'Knowing', it got me thinking about them a bit more. I then realized that the events portrayed in 1st and 2nd dreams had already transpired, and that the 3rd dream seem to have already started. The flames I saw in the western horizon in dream #1 in '90, reflecting back, reminded me that soon afterward, the phrase 'Santa Ana Winds' became more mainstream and fires have since been a constant problem in California (western horizon from Texas). The next one might be stretching it a bit, but the skyscraper city being brought down, not sure if it might be tied to 9/11, grant it in my dream the whole city was destroyed, while in 9/11 it was only a few buildings... As to the 2nd dream, over the years, I have been paying attention to the news quite a bit and of course, it has been fraught with problems and wars. Grant it, no one has been walking around 'zombie-like' saying 'He's coming' over and over again, unless you want to say all the dooms-day preachers are those 'zombies'...lol. Now as to the 3rd dream, I've recently been concerned that the problems are now beginning to spill over into the U.S. These last couple of years have been rather crazy for the U.S. and I personally feel that the U.S. is reaching a critical point since it seems to be quite polarized at the moment. There have always been extremist, but there are usually mostly moderates. But lately it seems that moderates are a minority, and that the extremist are the majority. Since then I have not had any more such dreams. Only time will tell, but I hope that when the real Test occurs, I do not fail again...

Re: Increase In post-apocalyptic Dreams
Yep had one this past week of observing burned buildings covered in ash and lava. Watching a battle of giant armored warriors .( God and satan) an angel in a white suit held my right hand and guided me to pray. And I was the only person alive.

Re: Increase In post-apocalyptic Dreams
I had this a year ago

There were two universes, one blue one purple.
Ours was blue.
And they were combining, like to large oceans crashing into each other.
All the stars and galaxies, morphing into greater celestial bodies...
Like a big change, a better one.

I thought I'd like to add that hf

ive had this exact same dream...I could see the stars of two galaxies combining in the night sky

Re: Increase In post-apocalyptic Dreams
I woke up on a bench in a public area, seems like a university that had been abanoned. Don't know how I got there, but lots of gun fire, not automatic, more like pistol. The person next to me asked me if i had access to the board?

I did not know this person ( older person, did not know if they were male or female) they hurried me through a quad, that opened to a larger area that was overgrown abanoned cars in the grass and untrained people shooting at each other. Mostly wasting ammo, the person i was with told me "if you get shot, they will not help you unless you have a skill".

I saw people carriering other people off. I do not know if they were sick or shot or injured. They were in great pain. I could smell solfur. It was not day or night it was dusk I think. Very hard to catch my breath, don't know if it's adrenaline or smoke,I was not paniced I was more annoyed. The person with me had some drugs with them, they said it was better than gold.

I checked my pockets, I had a hand gun in my wasteland. 9 mm I tnhink because of the weight.

That's all I remember.......

Re: Increase In post-apocalyptic Dreams
I had a dream long ago back in 2004 I think it was, so vivid tho that I will never forget it.

In the dream I opened my eyes to realize I was in London looking down the River Thames only something wasn't right...
the whole city was grey and in a heap of ruins. As I turned round that scene was replaced by the area I was immediately stood in which was a housing estate, all the houses had their red tiled roofs blown off and the only sound I could hear was the sound of plastic bags in the wind, they were everywhere, on the roofs, the floor and in the air (have no idea why lol), all the cars were rusted and it appeared I was the only survivor in that area and that London had been nuked many weeks before...

Also had a dream of a 747 fly above me only to start falling backwards and explode in a ball of flame... couple months later this happened:

I did smoke allot of weed back in 2004 tho...
