You need a decongestant. . |

What is a good decongestant? What shocks me the most is usually 2 darvon and I am feeling happy, and this isn't touching it! Pondlady02 RN User ID: 719487 United States 10/15/2009 07:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I came down sick with what I thought was a sinus infection yesterday afternoon. Regular symptoms pain/soreness behind the eyes, hurt to palpitate the forehead and under eye areas. No sinus drainage though, either through the nose or the back of the throat. No fever Quoting: Treasures~InBoundToday I've had to start taking 2 benedryl and 2 darvon every 4 hours and I am IN AGONY................OMG it hurts to touch my face. And I do mean literally hurts to touch. My glasses resting on the bridge of my nose is excrutiating and to touch my eyes by the tear ducts omg. Dr called and said there was nothing really I could do, that it was the flu and I just had a bad case of it. She also said it will probably last 7-10 days WTF I am such a puss I definitely can't do this for the next week. Any suggestions? YOu said the doctor "called"? Does that mean you did not GO to be seen by a doctor but just called in your symptoms? I recommend that you GO and be physically examined. Vital signs are in order, here. Fever is just one. Do yourself a favor, go!! |

Do you have a health food store nearby and someone to go there for you? Get something called "Goldenseal" - it will dry up all the mucous in your system, but stay well-hydrated with it (do NOT drink milk or eat dairy for a couple of days, that increases mucous production), works like a charm, isn't very expensive (in loose form it is really cheap) - I think you can get it in caps. Talk to a knowledgeable naturopath about it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 380667 United States 10/15/2009 07:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What I do when I get a bad sinus infection (and I get them bad) is fill a dutch oven type pan with water over the stove and when it gets hot, I breathe in the steam. It seems to help cleanse the nasal passages that get so swollen that they hurt like heck. I also take allegra and this seems to dry me up without feeling hyper. Feel better my dear...chicken broth is also good. |

Drink heaps of water and maybe try an anti immflammatory because chantces are a lot the pain is from imflammation.
