Philippines braces for Typhoon Parma

Tens of thousands of Filipinos sought shelter in evacuation centers

The biggest threat was rain in areas water-logged by Typhoon Ketsana

Typhoon Parma had maximum sustained winds of 167 kph at 1 p.m. local time

The country is "under the state of calamity" in preparation for Parma's landfall

updated 28 minutes ago

CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines, (CNN) -- Tens of thousands of Filipinos sought shelter in evacuation centers as the storm-ravaged nation of islands braced for Typhoon Parma, expected to make landfall Saturday afternoon.

A NASA satellite image shows Typhoon Parma as it heads towards the Philippines.

1 of 2 At 1 p.m (1 a.m. ET), Parma, known locally as Typhoon Pepeng, had maximum sustained winds of 167 kph (103 mph) with gusts as high as 204 kph (127 mph) as it approached the coastline of Luzon, the largest of the Philippine islands.

The storm is expected to hit land along the northern coastline, a rural region of fisherman and farmers.

The biggest threat for other parts of the country, including the heavily populated capital of Manila, was rain, more than wind. Areas already water-logged by last week's Typhoon Ketsana could see as much as 8 to 20 more inches of rain.

Frightened Filipinos are preparing for the worst. Arturo Fidelino, a telecommunications executive in Manila, described panicked people rushing to stock up on essential goods -- drinking water, canned food and electrical supplies.

"We had a traumatic experience when we had Ketsana," he said about the storm that slammed the Philippines last weekend, killed more than 200 people and left most of Manila submerged.

"We don't want that to happen again," he said.

Tens of thousands of Filipinos have been evacuated and Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro appealed to them to remain in shelters even if they were in cities and towns not directly in Parma's path.

Teodoro said he was worried about massive flooding and possible mudslides.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo placed the country "under the state of calamity" in preparation for Parma's landfall. She ordered evacuations as a precautionary measure against floods and landslides, and asked weather officials to issue an hourly update. She also urged local governments to implement forced evacuations if need be.

The order focuses on Camarines Norte, Aurora, northern Quezon, Polillo Island, Isabela and Cagayan.

Thousands have been evacuated in Isabela and rescue crews have a "standing order to use force if necessary" to move adults and children, said Paul Fernandez, who is overseeing disaster relief in Isabela. The government is providing the province with relief funds, he said.

Evacuees were taken to schools and warehouses on higher ground, he said.

Macapagal-Arroyo said disaster-relief crews in vulnerable areas must be equipped with life-saving kits, boats, portable generators and trucks.

Ketsana, which swallowed whole houses and buses over the weekend, killed 246 in the Philippines. It later strengthened into a typhoon. An additional 38 are missing, the National Disaster Coordinating Council said. The storm affected nearly 2 million people and forced the evacuation of 567,000.

At one point, 80 percent of the capital, Manila, was under water after experiencing the heaviest rainfall in 40 years.

The storm also killed at least 74 people in Vietnam and nine in Cambodia.

Yea someone mentioned this yesterday but no one seemed to care (as usual).

Sounds rather frightening. Last i heard, it was headed towards a sparsely populated part, so let's hope it's not too bad.

Its all over the news here in OZ - doesn't look good by the sounds of all the reports - as if they need another whack by a typhoon, gosh, I hope I don't speak too soon, but we are soooooo not affected in the western world as much as asia/middle east and other areas with earthquakes/volcanoes/typhoons. Of course the US has those tragic tornadoes and recent hurricanes, but still, the disasters in China, Japan, Burma, Indonesia etc; if we had the mass loss of people as just one of those recent events, we in the west would be really freaking out. Apparently OZ is not prepared infrustructure or emergency wise for the likes of Samoa tidal waves/tsunami - but I say this now, we can't strike lucky for too much longer.
The worst we had, as far as I can remember were fires or a train crash many years ago, mild compared to other people in the world that have sufferred so dreadfully from natural disasters.

I actually live in Victoria, not that far from where the fires were, but i totally agree with you and get what you're saying. Not sure where you are but we had more earthquakes here last week, nothing major, but it's just plain weird to have them here. Maybe that new volcano they keep talking about is about to sprout, who knows. We are all connected though. hf

Hi,

In Sydney - that 'red/orange' sky really has been on my mind since it happened, it was so 'never seen anything like it before'.

I just feel 'nervous' at the moment - its like a rolling ball is coming down the hill, gathering speed and getting bigger as it rolls.

Might just be hormones..lol, but I sense its our turn for 'something'.

Had dreams awhile back - too shocking to even think about them happening let alone post them in detail, but, Melbourne was in one of them. Complete chaos.

Another was like a 'meteor' ball (metaphorically speaking) going 'kersplash' in Sydney harbour.

Another thing was 'it just takes everyone by surprise' and nobody is prepared to handle the aftermath leaving many 'numb' and 'stunned'.

Have been feeling this way for the past week.

Really appreciate your reply - really weird to have those quakes down your way - I remember one in Balnarring many years ago, we 'thought' somebody was shaking the house - really spooked us!

Hi!

You are not alone. To be honest, i've felt like this too for a couple of years, but after the fires i've been on edge more i guess, because what happened was so out of this world it shook every fibre of my being, this was not a normal fire, and to top it off we had two 4.6 quakes a month later. I'm over 30 and have lived here my whole life and it now is like living in some sort of surreal dream.

We had orange skies and a red sun for a whole week later, but when i seen the dust storm you guys had, it's just feeling like i'm in an even more surreal existance. I know i would be freaking RIGHT OUT if i lived in Sydney and went through that.

What can we do but ride it out? I don't fear death at all, but it's just a really freaky time to be alive right now. Me? I think this is all due to an imminent pole shift. And it's not exactly something i want to survive so i'm not making any physical preparations, all my preparedness is spiritual. And i'm not alone physically, but my family and partner reside on a different planet, so i am alone in a way.

And seeing as this whole country pretty much resides along the coast (mostly) i think we are all sitting targets in a way. Excitingly frightening hey?

Our hearts went out to you guys in Vic with those horrific and completely out of left field, 'no time to prepare' fires - god the whole country was stunned. As for 'spiritual', I've christian beliefs - not perfect, but more each day I pursue to understand end time events. Weird but there has been lots of 'talk' about NDE's about us, people that have had these experiences and the drastic change to their lives (google Ian McCormack - his story left me speechless, travels all of the world, I watched the DVD of it being narrated, gobsmacked!) Oh by the way we were in Canberra for those devastating fires that wiped out 500+ homes - THAT was very very scary!!!. It was like being on planet ??XYZ lol, at lunchtime the sky was this eerie bright orange, then by 1-2pm, pitch black!!!

I'm back lol, had to do dinner. That's the thing with us Aussies hey? No matter what or where the disaster is, we all pull together to support each other. We so appreciate it.

I remember the Canberra fires, just terrible. And the only firefighter to lose his life here on Black Saturday was one of those Canberra firefighters that came over to help.

Even now, nearly 8 months on, parts that are devastated still look the same. The land won't ever recover in those parts. And the people still struggle.

I'm Christian too and feel like you do too, it's hard not to notice. And while many here like to think acts of nature are man-made, i just don't see it that way. All i see are ominous signs around the globe, and i can feel it within me, this is it...

Take care.. hf

I can't link it, sorry, but it's just been reported to have hit the Northern provinces, ripping off roofs (rooves?) and downing powerlines. Apparently 100,000 people were evacuated from it's path so thankfully no casualties so far though some flooding has occured.

Yes, we are a nation that has amazing compassionate and the aussie 'mateship' flies down on wings very fast to areas that need support here.

Here are some great sites that will bless you,

www.khouse.org (lots and lots of audio teaching, click on the 66/40 sidebar, there is a weekly teaching, this guy is amazing, listened and learnt so much over past 15 years)

www.joycemeyer.org

Try to get hold of T D Jakes, Joseph Prince - great great encouragement.

As for the family and friends on 'another planet' - hang in there, trust Him - it sounds like He will use you to bring others to salvation. Stay cool and 'relax' (in the Hebrew it means 'healing').

lol...yes me too had to have dinner

I'm sending you loads of encouragement, your doing great, just be Him to others, He will do the rest.

blessings right back at you! hf

Australia Hit By “Blood of God” As Dragon Tail Of Death Returns

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers

Russian scientists are reporting today that the Southern Hemisphere continent of Australia has been coated by red “dust” from our Planet Earth’s first interaction with the tail of the Comet known as NEAT (C/2002 V1) in an event not seen in our modern times, but known in depth by our most ancient of peoples and called by them the “Blood of God”.

Comet NEAT first appeared in November, 2002, and became one of the brightest celestial events of the past century and garnered considerably controversy when in February, 2003, it engaged in a “battle” with our Sun causing a massive solar eruption [photo 3rd left] that scientist report hit this comets tail. Also important to note about Comet NEAT is its considerable size that is estimated to be twice the size of our mammoth Planet Jupiter.

After Comet NEAT’s being hit by this massive solar eruption in 2003 our Sun entered into what is being called an historic Deep Solar Minimum that since 2004 has seen over 717 days of no sunspots appearing on its surface…that is until yesterday when as this comet’s dust was falling upon Australia two large areas of sunspots (1026 and 1027) erupted on our solar spheres surface.

To how the red dust from Comet NEAT entering our atmosphere could possibly affect our Sun, these reports detail how that after the tail of this comet was hit by our Sun’s massive solar explosion the ions in it were changed from positive to negative and have left throughout our Solar System a “massively destruction magnetosphere disrupter” that our most ancient of peoples called the “Dragons Tail”.

Even worse for our Planet in regards to this positively charged “Dragons Tail” being able to interact with us was the stunning 2008 discovery by NASA that our Earth’s defenses against it were not what we had previously believed it to be, and as we can read:

“NASA's five THEMIS spacecraft have discovered a breach in Earth's magnetic field ten times larger than anything previously thought to exist. Solar wind can flow in through the opening to "load up" the magnetosphere for powerful geomagnetic storms. But the breach itself is not the biggest surprise. Researchers are even more amazed at the strange and unexpected way it forms, overturning long-held ideas of space physics.

“At first I didn't believe it,” says THEMIS project scientist David Sibeck of the Goddard Space Flight Center. “This finding fundamentally alters our understanding of the solar wind-magnetosphere interaction.”

For the greatest understanding of this unprecedented event for our modern times one must look backwards in our history to when these same things occurred, and, perhaps, with no better guide than the much maligned by the “science cartel” Russian-born American researcher, Immanuel Velikovsky, who detailed the last time our Planet was hit with this “Dragons Tail” when its red dust fell upon ancient Egypt causing its rivers to turn blood red.

Velikovsky, not being concerned with his science cartel detractors, based his findings on what he said was “the ancient traditions [that] are our best guide to the appearance and arrangement of the earliest remembered solar system, not some fancy computer's retrocalculations based upon current understanding of astronomical principles.” He further stated that the “fine rusty ferruginous dust” from the then Comet Venus had filtered down on the Globe turning everything red as its “battle” with our Sun had, like Comet NEAT’s, changed the ions of its tail from positive to negative.

Now the importance of a comets tail being changed from positive to negative, Velikovsky stated, would be its “natural attraction” to the Planet Earth due to our large deposits of positively charged iron ore deposits, and of which Australia has our World’s second largest deposit of.

The myths of our most ancient peoples further state that when the “Dragon Tail” returns it will “reawaken” within human beings the “knowledge” of our last downfall that is still enacted to this very day by the religious rite of baptism, and where in remembrance of the many continents that were swept beneath the seas in “a single day and night” during our Earths last “overturning” one symbolizes the “rising from the water” of our species to a “new birth” of humanity.

Unfortunately though, our World today seems to have become no wiser, or perceptive, than those of our most ancient of ancestors, but whose wisest members left for us, all around the Earth, many warnings of what is soon to come, and which this first contact with the “Dragon Tail” is but the first of many celestial warnings to be seen.

And instead of the people of today remembering what has been ingrained in their very DNA, they continue to turn away from these warnings, even those received within them, and comfort their troubled souls and spirits with drugs and alcohol believing they are depressed instead of what is truly occurring within them, a WARNING to act.

PHIKIPPINES is in the Purification stage...CLEANSING...
