I once told the son of a Bishop who was on a journey looking for God, I said to him, you won't find God anywhere until you find God within you! Then you will see God everywhere!

I wish to point out one thing in your post though - you don't need to ask God for blessings, it's the nature of Divine Love to bless continuously and unconditionally. The blessing is ALWAYS there! We need to be thankful for the blessing available and ask God to help you always recognise and utilise that blessing.

Wanting to change the world is highly arrogant. What if others don't want your change? We should cause as little disruption as possible in life, by living gently and minding our own business!

Attempting to change to world is lunacy... Attempting to change yourself may be more feasible, however not as easy as it sounds...

Perhaps start with little things...

Right. So you think you can change the world just like TPTB can change the world in the way that they see is right according to their beliefs.

Either way. It's still a control issue. You can't control others. Only your self.

How about you just let the world change you?

You can change the world. You just can't make anyone else do it too.
there is no reason why you cannot go out and make the world a little bit better for you having been here. Maybe the homeless man you buy a sandwich for will be able to get strong enough to work again, maybe the sad friend you listen to and give a hug will go home and be kinder to her husband and children, perhaps the stranger you smile at on the subway will take that home and pass it along.
It is the butterfly effect and there are a thousand ways to do it.

I have done or know people who have done the following:

sent anonymous scholarships to kids I knew needed help to go to college from my rural community.
paid an elderly couple's electric bill.
taken a sick dog to the vet for a neighbor who couldn't afford it.
sent care packages to people I have only met online... from cookies, to rent, to warm winter clothing.
just mail a card saying "You are appreciated" to someone who arranged an event for your community
stacked a dumptruck load of wood for a neighbor who broke their leg
mowd my neighbor's lawn when they were out of town for a couple weeks
sent a meal to a new mom to make her day a little easier
donated baked goods to bake sales
visited elderly friends who moved into nursing homes
taken garden produce/ home canned goods to elderly in my town who can no longer do it for themselves.
arranged a month of frozen meals for a friends family while she was having chemo
taught free swimming lessons to an entire housing project with a slew of volunteers, including a big 10 university football team

these are all little things, but I believe they do add up and somehow this world will have been a little better for me having been here. I have already been blessed greatly in return.
