Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, one more, this time the story, or rather stories, about Judas.

Here is just one more example of Biblical errors that are not swept away by disingenuous Biblical interpretations and creative manipulation of the English language. There are conflicting accounts in Matthew and Acts regarding Judas. First, Here is what Matthew tells us about Judas in the purported complete, inerrant and inspired word of God (quotes are verbatim, but I have eliminated verse numbers for easier reading):

“And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me” (Matthew 27:2-10, KJV, emphasis my own).

And now, let's examine the second account of the story of Judas as presented in the book of Acts. You will immediately see several discrepancies.

“Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out” (Acts 1:16-18)

Comparing the account given in Matthew with the account given in Acts, we discover several contradictions
First, Matthew says Judas give the 30 pieces of silver back to the priests, and the priest used it to buy a field; however, Acts says Judas kept the money and he himself purchased the field. Second, Matthew says Judas died by hanging himself (there is no other interpretation of the words used by Matthew); however, Acts said he fell headlong [headfirst] and burst asunder so that his bowels gushed out.

So there are several contradictions between Matthew and Acts. Now let us examine other parts of Matthew's account to see if they jive with the rest of the Bible. Of course they do not.

First contradiction between Matthew and the Old Testament

Matthew said, “Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value.” However, there is no mention in the book of Jeremy (Jeremiah) of thirty pieces of silver, and Matthew is clearly wrong. Christians point o Jeremiah 32:6-9; however these verses say nothing about 30 pieces of silver (although they do mention 17 pieces (shekels) of silver. Here are the relevant verses:

“And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it. So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD. And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver” (Jeremiah 32:6-9).

The only place in the Old Testament that 30 pieces of silver are mentioned is in Zechariah 11:12-13; however, Matthew said the 30 pieces of silver was mentioned in Jeremiah, not Zechariah.

Second contradiction between Matthew and the Old Testament

Matthew sees every word written in the Old Testament as a prophecy. The story of Judas was supposed to by the fulfillment of a prophecy made by Jeremiah (Jeremy) show; however, a casual reading of EITHER Jeremiah 32:6-9 or Zechariah 11:12-13 will show there is not a hint of prophecy within the verses. Both prophets are clearly describing events which have already occurred, and there is nothing which anyone of normal intelligence would view to be prophetic. I call this a contradiction because, unlike Matthew I know what a prophecy is. How any one could read the above quoted verses and see a prophecy involving Christ is beyond me. However, I do know that many Christians, even very intelligent ones, seem to disengage their brains when discussing the Bible.

OK, time for fun: Question: How many ways did Judas die? Answer: four!!

First, according to Matthew, he hanged himself.

Second, according to Acts, he fell and was disemboweled.

Third, according to Paul, he didn't die at all!!! What, you say?? Wait, wait, wait, let me prove what I say. Here is something Paul said in the complete, inerrant and inspired word of God:

“And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God” (1 Corinthians 15:4-9).

Paul unequivocally says that AFTER the crucifixion, but BEFORE the ascension Christ was seen by all twelve apostles. However it is clear that Matthias was not appointed to replace Judas until after the ascension (Acts 1-26, read in context of entire chapter), so that Judas had to be one of the twelve apostles seen by Christ after His resurrection. Matthew was wrong when he says that Judas hung himself right after Christ was accused and before he was crucified. Paul says he was alive after the resurrection, and therefore no one knows when or how he died.

Fourth, but I have to go outside the Bible for this one, he was run over by a wagon. Papias, bishop of Hierapolis, one of the chief Christian authorities of the second century, and who wrote before the books of Matthew and Acts were written, gives the following account of the fate of Judas:
"Judas walked about in the world a great example of impiety; for his body having swollen so that, on an occasion, when a wagon was moving on its way, he could not pass it, he was crushed by the chariot and his bowels gushed out" The Christ, by John E. Remsberg, Item 279).

You say there are o contradictions in the Bible? You gotta be kidding!

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One more contradiction for you.

When Christ made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, how many animals was he riding? According to Matthew, Christ was sitting on two asses....at the same time! But according to Mark, Luke and John, only one animal was involved. Let's start with Matthew”

“And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.” (Matthew 22:1-9)

Now here is the alleged prophetic Old Testament verse which was supposedly fulfilled by Christ’s joyous entry into the Holy City:

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.” (Zechariah 9:9).

Unfortunately, Matthew, who many Christians claim to be a Jew, was obviously unfamiliar with the language of the Jews and failed to realize that the words “an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass” were a poetic repetition of a single animal, specifically an ass’s colt. Thus Matthew ignorantly had Christ riding both animals at the same time. One can only imagine how the savior of mankind must have looked sitting on both a small colt and the much larger ass. If Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem, as described by Matthew, were to occur today, there is no doubt it would be featured on America’s Funniest Videos.

The bottom line is that Matthew thought that Zechariah described two animals, thus showing his complete ignorance of the Old Testament Scriptures. Then, in an attempt to prove that Christ’s entry into the Holy City fulfilled this misunderstood prophecy, Matthew fraudulently testified that Christ rode both animals, thus showing his dishonesty.

But Matthew was the only gospel writer who got it wrong. The other gospel writers, describing the same event, understood that Zechariah 9:9 referred to a single animal. Here is how Mark describes the event:

“And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples, And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither. And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him. And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go. And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way. And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord” (Mark 11:1-9; see also Luke 19:28-38 and John 12:12-15).

Matthew said two asses were procured for Christ and he sat on both of them, while Mark, Luke and John said only one animal was involved. Both stories cannot be true!

Just one more example of the thousands of contradictions in the Bible.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bible believer are you not copy and paste the verses to prove the bible is truth?

All we do is copy and paste two contradictions of verses from the same bible.

I copy and paste so can verify that I am not changing the words that I draw upon,

The text and questions, and answers are my own.

Have you tried some original thought?

Are you asking questions that YOU don't understand? or questions that Others Don't understand?

HOW CAN I ANSWER THEIR QUESTION THRU YOU?

That is a waste of my time.

Or are you a troll that seeks to cause problems?

Bobby boy, you're a waste of air. I've never met a christian who approaches inconsistencies in the bible honestly, and you are no exception. For what its worth I discounted the intergity of the 'scriptures' at age 8, when I noticed it was chock full of contradictions. If these are the words of your god, he either had altzhiemers disease or is a bad liar.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who created heaven and earth?

God alone

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Isaiah 44:24
Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself.

OR God and Jesus

John 1:6-10
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

1 Corinthians 8:6
Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom all things are and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and through whom we exist.

Can you not think for yourself.

But preacher bob, you copy and paste from the bible to make your points and educate all of the time.

Didn't you ask to be educated on the contradictions?

You didn't ask for an original creative writing essay on the contradictions found in the bible.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did Moses see God face to face?

Yes.

Exodus 33:11
And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.

Deuteronomy 34:10
And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.

No, he only saw his back parts.
Exodus 33:20-23
Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put theein a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

 Quoting: Sir.Kalin

Your understanding is flawed here,

No were does it say Moses Saw God, infact in the space of 10 verses it proves this.

read it in context and you will find it is from Gods perspective and it was God talking to Moses face to Face.

From Moses perspective in verse 18 he sais show me thy Glory which indicates God was not visible to Moses,

Then god goes onto to say in verse 20 no man can see hes face.

Exd 33:11 KJV - And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

Exd 33:12 KJV - And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

Exd 33:13 KJV - Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation [is] thy people.

Exd 33:14 KJV - And he said, My presence shall go [with thee], and I will give thee rest.

Exd 33:15 KJV - And he said unto him, If thy presence go not [with me], carry us not up hence.

Exd 33:16 KJV - For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? [is it] not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that [are] upon the face of the earth.

Exd 33:17 KJV - And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

Exd 33:18 KJV - And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

Exd 33:19 KJV - And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

Exd 33:20 KJV - And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A question: According to the Bible, should you answer a fool according to his folly? Proverbs 26:4 says no, but Proverbs 26:5 says yes!

"Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him" (Proverbs 26:4, KJV, emphasis my own).

"Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit" Proverbs 26:5, KJV).

It is difficult to see how the inspired scribes could have overlooked this contradiction since the quoted verses are consecutive.
