Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does God lie?

No, God cannot and does not lie.
Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent.

1 Samuel 15:29
The Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent.

2 Samuel 7:28
Thou art that God, and thy words be true.

Titus 1:2
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.

Hebrews 6:18
It was impossible for God to lie.

Yes, God lies by proxy; He sends prophets or lying spirits to deceive.

1 Kings 22:23
Now, therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee.

2 Chronicles 18:22
Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets.

Jeremiah 4:10
Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people.

Jeremiah 20:7
O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived.

Ezekiel 14:9
And if a prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the Lord have deceived that prophet.

2 Thessalonians 2:11
For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

Do humans have free will?

Yes.

Dt.30:19
I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life.

Joshua 24:15
Choose you this day whom ye will serve.... But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

No.

Acts 13:48
And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Rom.8:29-30
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate.... Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Rom.9:11-22
For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth. .... For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? ... Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction.

Eph.1:4-5
He hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.

2 Th.2:11-12
God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned.

2 Tim.1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

Jude 4
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation.

I case you want to read on....

The Bible is riddled with repetitions and contradictions, things that the Bible bangers would be quick to point out in anything that they want to criticize. For instance, Genesis 1 and 2 disagree about the order in which things are created, and how satisfied God is about the results of his labors.
 Quoting: Saura~

You, the author and the publisher have poor understanding. And are most likely just satanst that don't care about the truth of the matter only your own dogma.

Genesis 2 is not a different account of creation. It is a more detailed account of Day 6 of creation. Chapter 1 is an overview of the whole of creation; chapter 2 gives details surrounding the creation of the garden, the first man, and his activities on Day 6.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, let's start with a few contradictions from the writings of Paul

FIRST CONTRADICTION

Paul says: “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?” (1 Corinthians 11:14).

It is obvious that Paul has never heard of the African lion and other animals where the male of the species is adorned with longer hair than the female. It is also obvious that Paul has never read the scripture, for if he had, he would be aware of the following versus which show that long hair is not a disgrace, but is in fact a sign of holiness!!

Numbers 1:2, 5: 2: Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.

Judges 13 :5. For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

I Samuel 1:11. And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head

SECOND CONTRADICTION

Paul can’t even get his own story straight. Describing his revelation on the road to Damascus, Paul gives two accounts:

“And he [Paul] fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man” (Acts 9:4-7).

“And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest. And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me” (Acts 22:7-9).

According to the first story, the men with Paul heard a voice but did not see a man; however, according to the second story, the men with Paul saw a light but did not hear a voice.

THIRD CONTRADICTION

Paul says “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep” (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).

Paul makes two mistakes: First of all, there is no mention in the scriptures of 500 witnesses to Christ’s resurrection. Second, Christ could not have been seen of “the twelve” since there were only 11 disciples at the time of his resurrection. Judas died prior to the resurrection, and Matthias was not appointed to fill his position until after Christ’s ascension (Acts 1:26). Paul was completely ignorant about the scriptures concerning Christ’s resurrection and ascension.

FOURTH CONTRADICTION

And again Paul misses the mark when he says: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law [given to Moses], which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect” (Galatians 3:16-17).

Paul claims that there were 430 years from the time the promise was given to Abraham until the law was given to Moses. However, Paul cannot count, and wasn’t even close. Let me tell you what the Scriptures really say:

The promise was given to Abraham when he was 99 years old (Genesis 17:1:2).

Isaac was born exactly 1 year later (Genesis 17:21).

Isaac was 60 years old when Jacob was born (Genesis 25:26).

Jacob was 130 when he and his tribe first went into Egypt (Genesis 47:8-9, 28).

The Israelites (Jacob’s tribe) journeyed in Egypt for 430 years (Exodus 12:40). The Bible also says they were afflicted for 400 years (Genesis 15:13-14); and it is apparent that they were not afflicted during the entire 430 years they spent in Egypt.

So how long was it between the promise to Abraham and the law given to Moses:
Computation: 1 + 60 + 130 + 430 equals 621 years, not 430 as Paul claims.

FIFTH CONTRADICTION

Paul says: “And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet” (Acts 13:20).

However, the Old Testament, which Paul apparently did not read, says: “And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel..” (1 Kings 6:1).

Any third grade math student can see the problem with this one: Not counting the last four years of Solomon’s reign; there were only 476 years for all previous kings as well as previous judges to rule. But Saul and David ruled for a total of 80 years, which leaves only 396 years for judges to rule, not 450 years as Paul claimed. Paul pulled this number out of a hat. He made it up, just like he made up other things.

Note: The scriptures say David ruled for 40 years: “David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years” (2 Samuel 5:4) The scriptures also say Saul ruled for 40 years: “And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years” (Acts 13:21).

EIGHTY TWO MORE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING PAUL SAYS:

I will not list them for you, however I will tell you where you can find them: Biblical Errancy, A Reference Guide, by C. Dennis McKinsey, pages 553-621.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing the lack of understanding.

I should do a class on critical thinking.

I see I was needed to help out.

Perhaps a class on the bible would help , The whole Bible, and then we can go over each point step by step since so many have so many wrong ideas.

But one thing No matter how much KNOWLEDGE you may have.

With out wisdom you will not be able to use it.

Should try to Get the Help from The HOLY SPIRIT, he can give wisdom.

Should look here to find out how.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You asked for contradictions. Here's a few more.

Every Christian has heard at least one sermon about how Christ was in the wilderness for 40 days tempted of Satan. However, these same Christians do not realize there is more than one account of Christ’s alleged temptation, and the various accounts are contradictory.

First, according to Mathew, the devil first took Christ to the temple, then to the mountain (Matthew 4:5-8). But according to Luke, the devil first took him to the mountain, then to the temple (Luke 4:5-9). This may seem to some to be a small matter, but even the most trivial discrepancy, the slightest contradiction, completely invalidates the claim of Biblical inerrancy. We are not just talking about any book, we are talking about the purported word of God Himself. This one irreconcilable contradiction proves to all, and for all times, that the Bible is not the word of God.

So which Gospel is correct, Matthew (temple first, then mountain) or Luke (mountain first, then temple)? Before you answer, not some of the most renowned Christian authorities believe the temptation never happened, but that it was merely allegorical.

Concerning this discrepancy, renowned Christian writer Dr. Farrar says: "The order of the temptation is given differently by St. Matthew and St. Luke, St. Matthew placing second the scene on the pinnacle of the temple, and St. Luke the vision of the kingdoms of the world. Both orders cannot be right" (Life of Christ, p. 70). Farrar also says: "From Origen down to Schleiermacher some have regarded it as a vision or allegory -- the symbolic description of a purely inward struggle; and even so literal a commentator as Calvin has embraced this view" (ibid, p. 65).

However, , there is yet one more account which appears in the book of John, and according to John, the authors of Matthew, Mark and Luke are frauds because the temptation of Christ never happened. Here is what the book of John says happened immediately after the baptism of Christ (I have edited for brevity without destroying the clear message given by John):

“He [speaking of Jesus] it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, which is to say, being interpreted, Master, where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me [John then describes how Christ found Nathanael]

And the third day [following Christ’s baptism] there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine….Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water [Jesus then turned the water into wine]... The governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee.....

After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days. And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem” [John then describes how Jesus began preaching from that time forward] (John 1:27-51 and John 2:1-13, emphasis my own)

So, there is a major problem within the scriptural presentations. On the first 40 days IMMEDIATELY following His baptism, Matthew Mark and Luke place Christ in the wilderness. In fact, according to these same scribes, it was only after the 40-day stint in the wilderness and an undetermined time of preaching that Christ ever met Peter and Andrew. However, John says there was no 40-day temptation because IMMEDIATELY after Christ’s baptism, He was spending time with Peter, Andrew, Phillip and Nathaniel; turning water into wine in Cana; then venturing forth into Capernaum and Jerusalem and then preaching all over the place. And all this occurred during the same 40 days that Matthew, Mark and Luke had Him fasting in the wilderness!!

If you believe John, than the temptation as described by the Synoptics did not occur at all; however, if you believe Matthew, Mark and Luke, then John is in error. There is simply no way to reconcile these obviously contradictory accounts, either as to the time of alleged occurrence or the manner of the alleged occurrence.

THE BIBLE IS NOT THE COMPLETE, INSPIRED AND INERRANT WORD OF GOD!

Its pretty simple really. The Bible predicted everything that's happening today.

Changes in;

Man
Plants
Animals
Insects
Sun
Weather
Space
Earth
Disease
Plagues

That should be enough to make anyone have a gander...with respect of course.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, every Christian has heard the story of how Peter told Christ that he would always be by His side, but Christ rebuked Peter saying that Peter would deny Him before the cock crowed. But what few Christians realize is that there are several accounts of Peter’s denial and they are in obvious conflict.

THE FIRST QUESTION:

When Peter professed his loyalty to Christ, what specific words did Christ use to chastise and challenge Peter? I warn you that you cannot know the answer since there are multiple versions of this conversation. Here are the various stories:

Jesus said unto him, “Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice” (Matthew 26:34)

And Jesus saith unto him, “Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice” (Mark 14:30).

And he said, “I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me” (Luke 22:34).

Jesus answered him, “Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.” (John 13:30).

Many versions of the bible use quotations marks to show the words spoken by Christ, and some versions even highlight the alleged words of Christ in red, thereby affirming the accuracy of the purported conversation, However, there is an obvious discrepancy among the accounts regarding the exact words that Christ used and, this is critical, since the various doctrines in the Bible are often described in just a few words, and if those words cannot be trusted to be precise, than confidence cannot be ascribed to any part of the Scriptures, and the doctrines of infallibility and “divine inspiration” are nothing more than mere illusions.

THE SECOND QUESTION:

How many times did Peter deny Christ before the cock crowed for the very first time?” I assure you, whatever answer you give, I will point directly to the Bible to prove you are wrong.

As already shown, it is clear that, according to Matthew, Luke and John, Christ asserted that the cock would be silent until after Peter’s third denial; and according to the following narratives in each of these books, the cock did not crow at all until after the third denial. So far, no contradictions.

But the Gospel of Mark is fatal to the much acclaimed inerrancy of the Bible. According to Mark, the cock did not crow for the very first time after the third denial (as promised by Matthew, Luke and John) but after the first denial. Here is what the Mark really says:

“And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest [first denial]. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. And he denied it again [second denial]. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto. But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak [third denial]. And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept” (Mark 14:67-72, highlighted insertions my own).

Now, if a young lady told me that she lost her virginity on a Friday night, I might believe her, and if she told me she lost her virginity on a Saturday night, I might believe her. But if she told me she lost her virginity on both a Friday night and a Saturday night, I would question her sincerity, and her sanity

With the same logic, I would reject the proposition that a cock could crow for the very first time after the third denial (as in Matthew, Luke and John), and also crow for the very first time after the first denial (as in Mark). Therefore, there are only three possibilities: Matthew, Luke and John are right and Mark is wrong; Mark is right and Matthew, Luke and John are wrong; or all of the aforementioned Gospels are a pure work of fiction. In any case, since at least one of the Books is fabricated, the doctrine of Biblical inerrancy has been invalidated, completely and forever.

THIRD QUESTION:

What was the sex of the second person to question Peter regarding his association with Christ. Since there are only two sexes, this should be an easy question; however, no matter what proposed answer might be, I will point to the Bible to prove it is wrong. How can I do this? Well, according to the Bible, the following conflicting accounts are given:

Matthew says it was “another maid .” Matthew 26:69-73

Mark proclaims it to be “a servant girl.” Mark 14:67-71

Luke states it was man!! Peter was asked by an unidentified person whether he was with Christ’s group and he responded, “Man, I am not” (Luke 22:55:60

John asserts it was a group of people: “Therefore, they said to him, “You are not also one of his disciples, are you?” (John 18: 16-27).

According to Mathew and Mark, the second person to question Peter was a female; according to Luke it was a male; and according to John, it was a group of people.

Now, please do not tell me that the Bible is completely free of conflict and contradictions. There are other fatal discrepancies in the above conflicting renditions, but is fruitless to detail each and every one. The Bible was not written by a Perfect God, but by fallible men. If the authors of the scriptures were truly inspired, their writings would be perfect and free of any hint of contradiction; however, the book is full of errors. I cannot, therefore, believe any part of it.

Re: How many failed to read and understand the QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I strongly suggest you who doubt get every book you can by Dr. Hugh Ross and read them. He frequently speaks in public. Go and listen. He takes questions. You will really enjoy him.

A little about Hugh:

Background: HUGH ROSS launched his career at age seven when he went to the library to find out why stars are hot. Physics and astronomy captured his curiosity and never let go. At age seventeen he became the youngest person ever to serve as director of observations for Vancouver’s Royal Astronomical Society. With the help of a provincial scholarship and a National Research Council (NRC) of Canada fellowship, he completed his undergraduate degree in physics (University of British Columbia) and graduate degrees in astronomy (University of Toronto). The NRC also sent him to the United States for postdoctoral studies. At Caltech he researched quasi-stellar objects, or “quasars,” some of the most distant and ancient objects in the universe.

Not all of Hugh’s discoveries involved astrophysics. Prompted by curiosity, he studied the world’s religions and “holy books” and found only one book that proved scientifically and historically accurate: the Bible. Hugh started at religious “ground zero” and through scientific and historical reality-testing became convinced that the Bible is truly the Word of God! When he went on to describe for others his journey to faith in Jesus Christ, he was surprised to discover how many people believed or disbelieved without checking the evidence.

Hugh’s unshakable confidence that God’s revelations in Scripture and nature do not, will not, and cannot contradict became his unique message. Wholeheartedly encouraged by family and friends, communicating that message as broadly and clearly as possible became his mission. Thus, in 1986, he founded science-faith think tank Reasons To Believe (RTB). He and his colleagues at RTB keep tabs on the frontiers of research to share with scientists and nonscientists alike the thrilling news of what’s being discovered and how it connects with biblical theology. In this realm, he has written many books, including: The Fingerprint of God, The Creator and the Cosmos, Beyond the Cosmos, The Genesis Question, A Matter of Days, Creation as Science, Why the Universe Is the Way It Is, and More Than a Theory.

Between writing books and articles, recording webcasts and podcasts (see reasons.org), and taking interviews, Hugh travels the world challenging students and faculty, churches and professional groups, to consider what they believe and why. He presents a persuasive case for Christianity without applying pressure. Because he treats people’s questions and comments with respect, he is in great demand as a speaker and as a talk-radio and television guest.
