I finally came to my senses.

No need to hate all troops. They don't all sign up thinking that manner. They don't all receive this position.

They should be guarding the drug Mexican border. Now maybe they can instead of the Chinese.

The north slope (look it up) oil fields up here are a wasteland of nothingness. Ten and a half months out of the year the fields are buried under ice and snow. Study after study proves the oil rigs have no impact on the flora and fauna. And there is oil in those fields. And mind blowing amounts of natural gas. Enough to supply us for a very long time. Of course Alaskan oil isn't nearly as desirable as the light, sweet crude of the Middle East, so of course it needs a little more refining.

If people only knew what lies beneath American soil. If they only knew and understood that the infrastructure for oil recovery is in place and ready to take on as much as we could hit it with. If they only knew how easily attainable these resources are, and understood how carefully watched and monitored those fields truly are.

For example, something as innocuous as a fresh water spill is considered a hazardous spill! That fresh water spill has to be reported to the EPA and various other ABC agencies - and it must be cleaned up in a specific way as to not endanger the land beneath the ice and snow.

Alas, the issue has been politicized to death. Half truths and false information skew public view.

To be blunt, those whose cause is to halt drilling in the Arctic - are full of shit. They are paid liars.

Worst of all, they are holding us back from energy independence. They are not our friends. They are the enemy.

We have got to do everything to prove that we will be independent.
Or else troops stay at Iraq and China ends up owning the USA.
