(OP) User ID: 699836 United States 07/18/2009 08:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Adorable picture of her Tessa.... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 631867She'll warm up to you .... give her time.... Maybe she was a 4th of July casualty ... ran off when she heard the fireworks going off ..... Honestly though, in her photo she looks part Great Dane ... i have a doberman and i'm tellin' ya she is like a spitting image of Marius just all black (he's black and tan) their arms and legs are shaped the same...heads...body structure, everything so i think maybe she's part dobie maybe that's why Marius loves her so much and RT, i figure she has worms but i'm not worried about Marius. He's current on all his stuff and healthy but thanks for thinking of him "Whether this song is about sex, drugs, or Ramen Noodles, it's moving. And you can bet your ass that you can fuck to it." |

You will reinforce the servile and fearful behavior. Soft soothing tones and patience works, though. I find just sitting down and speaking sweetly while serving up some tasty treats goes a long way, but no petting and cooing over obviously wretched and fearful behavior. I made this mistake with a very severely abused dog I rescued, his problems were way out of my league at the time. Wish I knew then what I know now. After a year I had to have him euthanized because he kept biting people. RIP Harley. Kletos, Eklektos & Pistos |

All it takes is love and patience! Not one of my best pix (before digital) but this is my Harley boy. Someone really did a number on him, and I regret that I could not have found him when I was still living alone, he would have been a perfect match, then. That's really great and a good sign of things to come for sure. You sure are nice to help the poor pup. I feel so sorry for these abused and neglected animals. It is really sad, thank you for helping one out! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 707574 United States 07/19/2009 12:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You have a good heart, Tessa. People are "dumping" their dogs and cats now when they lose their jobs or need to move, (sick bastards). I have a rescue dog, it took him months to learn to trust me, even after 10 years sometimes a loud noise or sudden gesture will scare him because he was so severely abused but he is the most loyal, loving and appreciate dog I've ever known. She will come around, I'm sure. |

Yeah, money is tough. But I think that if you're heart is in the right place (which I think it is) that the money will somehow become available. I suspect you have no choice now anyway, :) h |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 719067 Netherlands 07/19/2009 12:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A few years ago I adopted a 6 month old black lab. She was used to being around other dogs and she was really whiney and acted lonely. I ended up getting another dog as a companion. I'll never again keep a single dog. Dogs are social animals and they do so much better with a companion. They have completely different personalities. The two together are a lot more fun than one dog alone. |

Look after her. She's yours now. No bad thing |

Both my dogs are rescue dogs, and I just happened along at the right time. Quite a pair I have.
