I have swine flu - my thoughts

Technically I have Swine Flu. So I am told. But I dont.

Lets me explain the last three days to you.

Tuesday - feeling abit ill with a dodgy stomach and aching limbs around 10pm, not that bad but enough to feel uncomfortable.

Wednesday - Didnt sleep well so decided to throw a sickie and spend time with my new child. Feeling perfect by lunch time and enjoyed the rest of the day.

Wednesday afternoon my sister calls to say that they have closed the nursery she works at becuase there have been 5 confirmed cases of Swine Flu.

Wednesday night my sister feels ill, and a Doctor confirms she has Swine Flu.

Now heres the strange thing. I believe I was sick because I suffer from Diviticulitious and was having a mild attack, probably brought on by the stress of a new child and new job all in the same week.

However, I have been registered as having Swine Flu by my Doctor, and administered Tamiflu, because I was sick with two of the official Swine Flu Symptoms and been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Swine Flu.(My sister was never tested but told after being in close contact with 5 people or more who have been confirmed with it they no longer test but treat everyone who has two symptoms)

Im not allowed to go to the Doctors for him to confirm it was a mild case of Diverticulitious, instead I have become a statistic in the Swine Flu game.

Today I get a phone call from my friend in lives an hour away. He has Swine Flu to. However he was diagnosed as having Swine Flu by NHSDirect over the telephone because on his questionnaire he had at least two of the symptoms.(He has not ben in recent contact with 5 people with confirmed Swine Flu though so that doesnt fit with the above criteria for testing)

So theres three people, all confirmed with Swine Flu, none have seen a doctor, all treated with Tamiflu. All registered statistics is the growing threat of this killer. Except its probably the weakest strain of flu ive ever had. Or I havent got it. Either way, what a fraud this Swine Flu is turning out to be.
