After a delay due to bad weather in the area, the launch team gave a "GO" for fueling of the external tank. Tanking operations should begin shortly.

Launch is scheduled for 5:40 a.m.

Fueling Proceeding Smoothly

Space shuttle Endeavour's external fuel tank is being filled with more than 500,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. The three-hour operation began at 11:04 p.m. EDT. The tank will be completely filled, known as stable replenish, at about 2:04 a.m. The countdown will then enter a T-3 hour hold for 2.5 hours.



There still is a 80 percent chance that weather will not affect the 5:40 a.m. launch of STS-127.

I dont work until 4:30 so I might as well stay up and watch it. I havent missed one in the past 4 or 5.. I think the no sunlight would make for a cool picture and we might even see some ALIUMS!

STS-127 Mission Overview
The 16-day mission will feature five spacewalks and complete construction of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's Kibo laboratory. Astronauts will attach a platform to the outside of the Japanese module that will allow experiments to be exposed to space.

The STS-127 crew members are Commander Mark Polansky, Pilot Doug Hurley and Mission Specialists Dave Wolf, Christopher Cassidy, Tom Marshburn, Tim Kopra and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Julie Payette. Kopra will join the space station crew and replace Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata. Wakata will return to Earth on Endeavour to conclude a three-month stay at the station.

Launch Morning at Kennedy!

Good morning and welcome to the NASA Launch Blog. We are coming to you from Firing Room 3 inside the Launch Control Center at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. About three miles away, space shuttle Endeavour stands bathed in spotlights on Launch Pad 39A.

Launch activities are continuing after thunderstorms over Kennedy earlier delayed the loading of the external tank. At 11:04 p.m., the launch team here began filling the tank with the super-cold propellants Endeavour will use to power its three main engines during its climb to orbit. It will be fully loaded at 2:04 a.m. The pumps will go into “stable replenish” mode then, which means they will put in just enough propellants to replace the amount that evaporates during the countdown.

Tanking takes about three hours. The original schedule called for the tanking to begin at 8:15 p.m., but the launch team is confident they can make up the time and launch Endeavour on schedule at 5:40 a.m.

Launch Team Preparing Expedited Schedule

After dealing with a weather delay of almost three hours, the launch team here at Kennedy is speeding up some of its processes to make up the time and still make the liftoff time of 5:40 a.m. Shuttle Launch Director Mike Leinbach said the team will not take shortcuts relating to safety.

Controllers Monitoring Leak at GUCP

The launch team here at Kennedy is monitoring a leak in the area of the Ground Umbilical Carrier Plate, which is the connecting point between the external tank and the launch tower. A leak developed at the GUCP during the previous external tank filling operation Saturday morning.

Yep, Not much chance of them pulling off a launch. this will be scrubbed. They did not have enough time to really hold the fueling process since it started late.
