the moon phases are extreamly wacky! | |
| kyle User ID: 675011  United States05/31/2009 03:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ok so recently ive been watching the different moon phases lately. now i wasnt exactly sure anything was wrong but i just recently cheacked google for the normal moon phases and i found i was correct! the moon phases are extreamly wached out! now usually every phase is cuased by the suns light hitting it as it goes around the earth in a counter clockwise orbit. and just about every phase the light shines on the moon in a horizontal way. but just last night and a few nights before that the sun has been hitting it to where it looks like the moon is cut in halve diagonally. now im no astrolagor(sorry if i didnt spell that right) but im pretty sure the moon isnt supposed to look that way. now if your wondering i live in portland oregon so the moon should appear normal to me. but it hasnt! im open to opinions but not asshole opinions. you people who just say stupid ass comments i will just ignore. anyways id like you to discuss this if you want. may peace be with you  |

If you tilt your head so that your head-horizon is parallel to the line joining the sun and moon, the moon will appear "correct" to you. Don't think too hard about it, though. |

If you can see the moon, they can see you from the Moon, even in Portland, unless it's raining in which case they'll have to drive a car by your house with somebody shooting infrared. They usually use white Camrys. |

Actually i did look at the moon last night. The thing that struck me was it looked like it was going into full moon but it's going into new moon. Last night I saw the moon as it is shown on the 14th (or will look like on the 14th of june) that is what struck me as odd. I thought you were going to talk about that but what you said is total BS unless you have pics to shut me up with. |

Could just be the angle of sunlight changeing due to the time of the year? |
