Something that would enhance the benefit of VitD and other supplements, is drinking one or two glasses of fresh juiced grapefruits, or a cantaloupe. New vitamins continue to be discovered in fruits and vegetables. Depending on what type produce juiced, you can get sleepy, or energetic! Just something to think about, something to add to your daily routine along with meals or snacks.

You can "overdose" on vitamin D and cause some fairly nasty health issues.

If you are over 50, you need to take a supplement of vitamin D for sure.
Even the food guide will tell you, that there is no way, you are getting enough vitamin D and you MUST take a supplement daily.

Yet all doctors will say, a good diet, plenty of rest and exercise is all you need. Never do they mention you MUST take vitamin D.

Now it turns out that if you go out in the sun, you will get 20,000 iu of vitamin D, after about 12 days in will be created in your skin.
It takes 12 days to be created.

Now thats the normal dose, but people wear sunblock, so you are not getting that.
In Northern latitudes, like in Canada, you cannot get any vitamin D from the sun, from October to March.

There isn't enough UVb rays.

So why is it then, that people get colds and the flu? Well it turns out they get them because they are susceptible, because of vitamin D deficiency.

And so doctors discovered, that if you take 2,000 iu daily, you can avoid the flu.

And they recommend cod liver oil, as a good source.

In fact it has been shown that vitamin D can stop and prevent a cytokine storm.

Now there is this thing with vitamin A, that BLOCKS vitamin D.
So they put LOTS of vitamin A, up to 10,000 iu in a multivitamin, and 400 iu of vitamin D.

If you go to buy cod liver oil, you will find it has incredibly high vitamin A and they have removed, most of the vitamin D.

The pharmaceutical industry knows, that by keeping vitamin D out of your diet, they can keep selling you cold remedies and flu remedies, which treat the symptoms.

They attack any study, that says vitamin can prevent the flu.

Then they sell it back to you as relenza, and tamiflu for how much?
One hundred and ninety nine dollars US. for tamiflu, for TEN capsules.

Such incredible evil, surprises even me, and you would think I would be used to it by now.

Funnily enough, we had our first warm day here for a couple of weeks and the rush your whole body feels when stepping outside and feeling the rays on you first thing in the morning is unmistakeable.

6. People with dark skin pigmentation may need 20 - 30 times as much exposure to sunlight as fair-skinned people to generate the same amount of vitamin D. That’s why prostate cancer is epidemic among black men — it’s a simple, but widespread, sunlight deficiency.
7. Sufficient levels of vitamin D are crucial for calcium absorption in your intestines. Without sufficient vitamin D, your body cannot absorb calcium, rendering calcium supplements useless.
8. Chronic vitamin D deficiency cannot be reversed overnight: it takes months of vitamin D supplementation and sunlight exposure to rebuild the body’s bones and nervous system.
9. Even weak sunscreens (SPF=8) block your body’s ability to generate vitamin D by 95%. This is how sunscreen products actually cause disease — by creating a critical vitamin deficiency in the body.

If you had, AND believe me, no matter HOW MUCH D3 you take, the body will NOT absorb it.

Before most of your times here on Earth, there was on radio WOR from NY City a Dr. Carton Fredricks, who had a radio show five days a week, a proven track record on nutrition and vitamines and a LARGE following. My Mom was one. Because she had the radio on at lunch time to hear Dr Fredricks, I caught many of his shows. He sold/pushed NOTHING!

THAT is where I first heard about there being FOUR D vitamines, and how D3 was the WRONG one chosen to be added to milk. I have NO idea which ones are in vitamine pills and combined with calcium tables, so I can't go there.

I can't praise vit D enough.

last year i had chronic glandular fever which developed into multiple sclerosis. doctor was absolutely hopeless. I could't move because my liver and spleen were massively swolen.

Although the disease was caused by mercury poisoning, which i have since corrected, a major part of my self-cure was improving the immune function with tumeric, curcumin and getting a tan, since i was pasty white.

I noticed immediately on sunlight exposure that my symptoms became lessened, and over the months the more sun i got the better i felt. Before I was sick I was pasty white and fat and depresed, and now i'm healthy, brown and skinny and pulling the chicks.

Don't wear sunscreen and spend 20 or minutes in the sun, it helps.

Gave up sunscreen a couple years ago, that crap is dangerous.



yeah if your just in the sun for 20 mins. If you work out in the sun every day..it wouldnt be a bad idea to use a little sun block

I've spent a fair amount of time researching on the internet and have only found one article supporting this - perhaps I'm not searching with the best phrase..... listen and stop being fucking worry warts. LOOK get enough sun, eat a decent diet, don't abuse your body and you will be OK. What do expect another 100 years tacked on because you took some synthetic vitamin D supps? fucking stupid.

We're having quite a debate at my house on whether Vitamin A really interferes with Vitamin D3 absorption. I've spent a fair amount of time researching on the internet and have only found one article supporting this - perhaps I'm not searching with the best phrase..... Can someone post a link to reliable source on the Vitamin A/Vitamin D interference? Thanks so much!

Basically it goes on to say more studies are needed.

Retinol interferes if you take twice the daily UL.
Beta-carotene does not interfere, but beta-carotene is absolutely not recommended by the government as a supplement due to the increased risk of cancer.

If you had, AND believe me, no matter HOW MUCH D3 you take, the body will NOT absorb it.

Before most of your times here on Earth, there was on radio WOR from NY City a Dr. Carton Fredricks, who had a radio show five days a week, a proven track record on nutrition and vitamines and a LARGE following. My Mom was one. Because she had the radio on at lunch time to hear Dr Fredricks, I caught many of his shows. He sold/pushed NOTHING!

THAT is where I first heard about there being FOUR D vitamines, and how D3 was the WRONG one chosen to be added to milk. I have NO idea which ones are in vitamine pills and combined with calcium tables, so I can't go there.

You see here is the problem.

No one has a little monitoring device hooked up to them, to tell them what levels their vitamins are at.

So in some cases beta-carotene can prevent cancer, and some cases it causes cancer.

And that is because all these factors work together.

If you take retinol as a supplement, and have a dinner rich in vitamin A, well you are way over the daily UL and re now blocking vitamin D absorption.

But what is the daily UL upper limit for Vitamin A?

10,000 IU and some multi-vitamins have 10,000 IU.

So anything you eat that day which has vitamin A puts you over the UL.

In fact one serving of liver, can put you at double.

There is still a lot of work that needs to be done, but unbiased studies are difficult to find and uncorrupted scientific studies are also difficult to find.

What I am doing, is just doing my own research, one suppliment at a time.

Started with zinc, then zinc vitamin c and echinachea, when I discovered zinc by itself does next to nothing, but as a catalyst it works wonders.
If you have a really bad tooth ache, and tylenol with aspirin together will still not kill the pain, if you take them with zinc, the pain is gone, because it is a catalyst.

So then I went onto selenium. And discovered how and when to take that, according to how it made me feel and how it fit in with the vitamin c and zinc.

So then I went onto vitamin D, and fit that in, all the while maintaining a good diet, but dropping milk and as many milk products as possible from my diet.

So that is how I am approaching it, one step at a time.

I will still eat carrots, I just won't take a vitamin A supplement.
