Another Montauk Monster washes Up on the beach
[link to buzz.yahoo.com]

Just when you thought it was safe to take a romantic walk along the beach, another Montauk Monster washes up on the shores of Long Island.

Another, you say? Yes: Last year, the original Monster caused a huge stir across the Web. Nobody knew what it was, but reports indicated it was big, bloated, beaked, and rather gross-looking. Naturally, onlookers couldn't turn away then, and they can't turn away now. (If you're feeling brave and you haven't eaten in a while, check out the story and images from Newsday.)

After Fox News and several other publications reported the latest Monster discovery, queries on the corpulent carcass roared like an angry wildebeest. Within 24 hours, searches on "what is the montauk monster" (a very good question) and "montauk monster pictures" were both red-hot.

Additionally, blogs are now chiming in with their theories on the creature's origin. Was it planted by pranksters? For what it's worth, the urban legend experts at Snopes.com write that there seems to be "no consensus" as to whether the original Monster was real, photoshopped, or just a very large raccoon.

Want to decide for yourself? Beware — even for the Internet, these guys are pretty gross.

i have a theory maybe these creatures are demonic entities that have crossed over from the lowers worlds via star gates and so they are otherworldly... of course we are led to believe that these creatures are either fake stuffed things or some natural animal decomposed...

Re: Another Montauk Monster washes Up on the beach
ahh so this explains why the radar over Camp Hero turned 90 degrees to the northeast

[link to www.danshamptons.com]

[link to www.newsday.com]

Last Wednesday morning, police received a call from a citizen who lives in the Camp Hero housing development just one mile from the giant 11-story abandoned military radar tower saying that when he woke up he observed that the dish atop the tower had moved about 90 degrees counterclockwise from where it had been the night before. When he went to bed, it was pointing to the northwest as it always has. When he woke up, it was pointed to the northeast. It has not moved at all since 1966, this man said, since it had served its final day for the Air Force and was decommissioned. He thought it startling that the dish was now turned in another direction.

The call was transferred to the Montauk Police Annex in the center of downtown Montauk where an officer was dispatched to the scene. The dish was indeed pointing to the northeast. He thought that perhaps the caller was playing a trick on him and that it had always pointed to the northeast. He went to see the caller, Howard Edelstein, who was adamant that he had seen it move. And so, the officer asked around. Nine people said that even though the dish looms over the landscape at 110 feet, they never noticed before which way it pointed. But one old timer, Max McLaughlin, said he remembered that it pointed northwest and when he looked at it, he became agitated and said that it very definitely had moved.

Later that day, police made a further call to an official at the New York State Park Commission office in Sayville, who said they had checked the plans and since the radar tower and the support housing had been made into a state park exhibit in 2002, it had been pointed to the northwest.

As a result of this, the fire department and police put a police cordon around the base of the tower until the Parks Department could dispatch experts to deal with the situation, which was scheduled for Friday.

The dish did not move at all on Wednesday night or Thursday, but on Friday morning it was found that the dish was facing southeast, another counter clockwise move of 90 degrees. Again, it had apparently moved during the night.

A team of 15 experts from the New York City Bridge and Flange Repair Company arrived in three trucks on Friday around noon. It was a warm day and there was a big crowd of people behind the police barrier out there to watch. Men in helmets with climbing equipment and pickaxes spent an hour atop the tower and said the dish showed no sign of being moved whatsoever and that the heavy bolts, though rusted a bit, were still holding it in position fast and there was no danger of it falling or coming loose whatsoever.

"It's as solid as a rock," the foremen from NYCBFRC said.

Re: Another Montauk Monster washes Up on the beach
This is what it looks like to me.

It looks like somebody chopped off the head of a pig, sewed on a deer skull, chicken feet and threw it on the beach.

You would think they would bring this thing to get it analyzed at DNA center.. I still can't believe those people fell for the big foot hoax in the cooler.

Or it could have just been a crazy mutation. Either way.. Id rather see a tremor beast than that thing any day.
