Russia and Iraq signed a joint communique here on Friday, calling for the establishment of a new world order and speaking highly of the agreement on the forces pullout from Iraq, local media reported.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and his visiting counterpart Nuri al-Maliki signed the communique after negotiations, the Itar-Tass news agency reported.
In order to ensure global peace and security, assume international accountability and strengthen multilateral cooperation, Russia and Iraq urged the establishment of a new world order, which strictly abides by UN charters and resolutions and is based on well-acknowledged international laws and principles, said the communique.
Both sides also pledged to enhance cooperation in setting up the order, and have reached agreement on issues like anti-terrorism, trans-border organized crimes, illegal drug trafficking and arm dealing.
