Monsanto's Many Attempts to Destroy All Seeds but Their Own
Some say that if farmers don’t want problems from Monsanto, they simply shouldn’t buy Monsanto’s GMO seeds. But it isn’t quite that simple. Monsanto contaminates the fields, trespasses onto the land taking samples, and then sues, saying they own the crop.

Meanwhile, Monsanto is taking many other steps to keep farmers and everyone else from having any access at all to buying, collecting, and saving of normal seeds:

1. They’ve bought up the seed companies across the Midwest.

2. They’ve written Monsanto seed laws and gotten legislators to put them through, that make cleaning, collecting and storing of seeds so onerous in terms of fees and paperwork that having normal seed becomes almost impossible.

3. Monsanto is pushing laws that ensure farmers and citizens can’t block the planting of GMO crops even if they can contaminate other crops.

4. There are Monsanto regulations buried in the FDA rules that make a farmer’s seed cleaning equipment illegal because it’s now considered a “source of seed contamination.”

Monsanto has sued more than 1,500 farmers whose fields had simply been contaminated by GM crops.

You could eat manure and be okay (a little grossed out but okay). Try that with pesticides and fertilizers. Indian farmers have. Their top choice for how to commit suicide to escape the debt they have been left in is to drink Monsanto pesticides.

So, after demanding that seed cleaners somehow be able to tell one seed from another (or be sued to kingdom come) or corrupting legislatures to put in laws about labeling of seeds that are so onerous no one can cope with them, what is Monsanto’s attitude about labeling their own stuff? You guessed it - they’re out there pushing laws against ANY labeling of their own GM-food and animals and of any exports to other countries. Why?

EARTHKEEPER HERO:
DR. VANDANA SHIVA

“All this is talked about in the language that Gandhi left us as a legacy. We work with three key concepts."

"(One) Swadeshi...which means the capacity to do your own thing--produce your own food, produce your own goods...."

“(Two) Swaraj--to govern yourself. And we fight on three fronts-–water, food, and seed. JalSwaraj is water independence--water freedom and water sovereignty. Anna Swaraj is food freedom, food sovereignty. And Bija Swaraj is seed freedom and seed sovereignty. Swa means self--that which rises from the self and is very, very much a deep notion of freedom. I believe that these concepts, which are deep, deep, deep in Indian civilization, Gandhi resurrected them to fight for freedom. They are very important for today’s world because so far what we’ve had is centralized state rule, giving way now to centralized corporate control, and we need a third alternate. That third alternate is, in part, citizens being able to tell their state, `This is what your function is. This is what your obligations are,' and being able to have their states act on corporations to say, `This is something you cannot do.'"

“(Three) Satyagraha, non-cooperation, basically saying, `We will do our thing and any law that tries to say that (our freedom) is illegal… we will have to not cooperate with it. We will defend our freedoms to have access to water, access to seed, access to food, access to medicine.'"

LOL.. if they did try any bullshit like that and I owned a farm, I'd take out a huge loan on the farm, stash the money offshore or somewhere safe as another identity, and file bankruptcy on the whole mess.

Monsanto really is one of the most evil corporations ever to exist, about as bad as the RIAA and MPAA.. they're parasites, who do nothing but suck money from good, hardworking people with no real benefit on our end.

They can all fuck themselves for all I care. hf

When the shooting starts, Monsanto execs, scientists, salesmen and the FDA traitors that sold out the American people should be some of the first ones rounded up...

They are epitome of an evil corporation.

a saskatchewan judge who was to judge monsantos case aginst a farmer for having their seeds blow onto his land and not pay for them, started by saying "it is an honor to have a fine corporation like monsanto in my courtroom" guess who won the case. monsanto has bought off a lot of people including obviously this judge. this might be the most ruthless, criminal corporation on earth. majority owners of monsanto list their country of residence as israel.

Yes Shaun, that seems to be their insane goal. I've been following their story for a few years now trying to make sense of it (it doesn't), the tens of thousands of suicides of farmers in India that is, never to the best of my knowledge, reported on mainstream media.

Many of those poor farmers in India commit suicide by drinking pesticides.

Even more than the shocking stock market crisis in the US, this corporation gets to me the most.

I found links on youtube etc. but they're broken up in so many parts....but for those interested, check out:

The Future of Food (available at Netflix btw)

and

The World According to Monsanto.

I remember reading that a large part of the immigration from Mexico to the US was because of Monsanto bullying the small Mexican farmers (like they do in America btw) to buy their undisclosed sterile corn seed, which was much cheaper at the moment, and like in India, didn't realize they couldn't harvest their seeds for the next year's crop.

Not to mention the dozens of different native strains of corn that were left by the wayside.

The next year they were broke.

We in the US used to be protected from the predatory, and yes, Evil exploitations foisted upon us by unbridled corporate power which has been utilized to overwhelm and steamroll any and all competitive companies. That legal recourse and form of protection afforded by the law and the courts WAS and IS the Anti-Trust/Anti-Monopoly legislation which has NOT been followed or enforced in a very long time.

Monsanto is a monopoly pure and simple! It has been destroying any and all competition for their harmful and evil "products" for far too long. We need to push our representatives to get the courts to disband and break up Monsanto, and to make laws against their contamination of the diversity and lifeforce contained in the seeds that are our birthright!!! Seeds are essential for human civilization to continue on anything beyond hunter-gatherer tribe levels. The EVIL that is Monsanto must be disempowered through our laws and representatives or there will be hell to pay one way or the other!!!!!

Yep it's true. i love pizza so much I won't even keep it in the house. Never order from a chain. Total pollution.

If you think I am over-reacting, do you homework.

For a burger, I buy ground bison.

Geez, I cook for myself on the weekends and here and there but working full time I come home starving so during the week I eat Stouffers or Progressive soups and white bread and Olivio!!! Gawd, can't help it.

I feel polluted but its just not that simple, even when you have the knowledge.

Or else I would weigh 300 pounds. lol

When you have to get up at six o clock in the morning, you're always hungry...

Frankly, I'm concerned about the people Obama has surrounded himself with. The Secretary of Agriculture, Vilsack, is a pawn for Monsanto and is a complete and total let down -- a slap in the face to the natural health community, It seemed that this position would be one area Obama could show his true colors without perceived as putting the economy or "security" in jeopardy, an area where "change we need" might become reality. But that has not proven to be the case.

The most ideal title for a story about Monsanto. That's the entire goal of them rather than for long lasting crops for drought and pest.
