Friday Doom For the Dow!!!
[link to articles.moneycentral.msn.com]

The sell-off sets Friday as potentially a very volatile day of trading. The government will report on U.S. unemployment and nonfarm payrolls before Friday's open. The consensus estimate is for the unemployment rate to hit 7.9% and for payrolls to drop by 650,000.
The sell-off in U.S. markets mirrored heavy selling in Europe and parts of Asia. The selling also sent many frightened investors to seek safety in U.S. government securities, gold and silver. Gold closed up $21.10 an ounce to $927.80; silver was up 21 cents to $13.12 an ounce.

This is bad...very bad...

Many people who post here want lots of doom, well you may a huge pile of delicious doom on Friday.

Looks like all markets may see a large sell off with people going to metals for "security" if there is such a thing.

I am no "eat", but I can tell you Friday will be bad, and could result in a large number of people being affected.

May God help us, and I hope I am wrong.

Like I said I hope I am wrong, but its starting to look pretty bleak.

My retirement has fallen by half so far...not sure whats going to happen since you can't take out a 401k unless you leave the company.

Invest in food and guns, civil unrest looks to be around the corner.

Suggestion: use your credit cards tonight and tomorrow, if you need anything. Make sure you have several thousand out of the bank before the weekend. Good luck!

Why does it go up so much after Friday? Is that good or bad?

I'm pretty ignorant on the timewave zero stuff.

It goes up because the market is closed. Then it reopens on Monday. Another drop.

The dow dropping is nothing compared to that senario. If that happens, all bets are off, the dollar and most, if not all, of the world's currencies would become worthless overnight. You would then get the senario out of the movie Rollover

Thanks AC, that does make sense since if there is a big drop on Friday people will most likely panic and sell like mad on Monday too.

If there are massive layoffs the Dow will hold steady due to the companys keeping cost down.

GM is about to go bankrupt too so that may be the proverbial straw.

Man I hope I am really wrong, I would like to retire someday...
