Re: The ' What are you reading? ' Thread!
just finished a book called 'by jeep to freedom'.
very good read. i started it many years ago, but never finished it because my ex decided to rip out the half i hadn't got to because she wasn't getting enough attention.

to sum it up, its about a scottish guy who trained the first group of u.s rangers,
and his expereince of the war. landed on D-day and one of the only surviving members of he's battalion, was a p.o.w twice, fought with the russian army on the 1st front, worked as a doctor, and heaps more.

possibly one bit that stands out, is where he gets asked,

'what the hell are you doing in a german jeep painted in american colors flying a Czech flag while in a russian uniform and carrying a preist as a passenger!?' next line was something like, 'you of could heard a pin drop once he heard my scottish accent reply' or something like that.

same bloke met alfreid weiss and other people. one of those books that really make you think..

if anyone has read this book, please let me know,
i need to discuss somethings with someone that can shed some light on a few things in it.

"The Illuminatus Trilogy" by Robert Anton Wilson for the fourth time. It's just brilliant. If you haven't read it yet & you like conspiracies & 'lunatic fringe' types of things, then get it asap!
