Not quite. It was caught by chance, in the middle of a satellite scan. Then the images are geo-referenced and voilà. Interesting find, OP.  Thanks. It was emailed to me. I didn't 'find' it, but found it interesting. It's surprising to me that there are places that haven't yet been explored by modern means.
