it was too rainy here tonight to see it.

Goodbye, halcyon days...

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.

Excellent shot.

It rained here but cleared out quick. It was a beautiful sight and I'm so glad I got to see it.

Took a few pics too, but yours are better. What were you using for camera (sorry if you already said, I'll reread replies)

I'd read that the smiling moon was for the eastern viewers... could be wrong. But, that's what I remember right now.

Your welcome.

If you don't mind missing Jupiter in the mix, look to the west at sundown on 31 Dec. 2008 and you will see the Moon and Venus in conjunction/ they will be higher in the sky than today so there will be a longer viewing window.

The moon conjuncts and occults things quite often considering its size and orbital period.

Have fun.

R.

BYW - Nice pics Duncan.
