Those are crab spiders, and they are awesome looking creatures. I am so glad they don't come in dog or cat size!No kidding! Here's a closeup of one's face. Love those eyes!! [ link to i383.photobucket.com] That is one of the most 'alien' faces I've ever seen! You must have a larger lens than I do, I opted for the 18x200mm lens when I bought the camera, which does a great job for all my photography needs, but I envy your 'zoom' power!! I'd need a tripod for certain. I do all my shots free standing, thank goodness for digital, I can take a whole series and pick out the sharpest. I think given the choice between the two, I would take a high-power microscope over a high-power telescope any day. There is a lifetime of discoveries to be found up close.
