...A society that is not mentally prepared for a depression (of any kind) and has guns, is a very, very, dangerous society. Panic and the shock to live without the comfort that they were used to, may create much more problems, than the depression itself.

While I do believe we will indeed adjust and adapt over time, in this tough period of adjustment, in which basic necessities will be scarce for so many of the unprepared, this is the single, greatest near-term threat to our collective safety and well-being.

A starving man will go to great lengths to feed himself and his family. Desperate people do desperate things.

Prepare, survive, adapt. Rinse. Repeat.
