WHY ARE DEMS SO STEAMED OVER SARAH PALIN?
Yahoo: [link to answers.yahoo.com]

Resolved Question: Why are Dems so steamed over Sarah Palin?

Is it because?

She’s smart.
She’s fresh.
She’s a REAL change.
She’s articulate.
She’s attractive.
She has more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Because Palin is a Splendid choice and she will make a Wonderful VP (and future President)! It just goes to show that McCain is a true maverick, reformer & genius who picks likewise!

Palin:
* has the record of the most beloved Governor in the US by her state (Alaska)
* is a vocal, huge proponent of American energy independence & Alaskan drilling
* has actually been leading people for the past several while Obama & Biden NEVER have led anyone!
* shelved her state's pork-laden Bridge to Nowhere that McCain has ridiculed on the trail
* will join McCain in fighting hard against earmarks
* is a huge fighter of corruption in Alaska
* is about as far outside the Beltway as you can get
* ran on the agenda of stopping wasteful gov't spending
* is the mother of 5 kids!
* has had her son deploy to Iraq
* is for a strong US defense
* is a widely acknowledged rising star in the Republican party
* is an ice fisherman
* is a moose hunter
* is a small business owner and a lifetime NRA member

All in all, she's a truly fine leader, citizen and patriot - who truly represents Americana (Motherhood & Apple pie)!

McCain/Palin '08

Please tell me, what has Palin done that is so great? She's been so busy having more children and chasing after her brother in law she hasn't had time to run the state.

IN what direction?
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 2008-07-18 18:20.
Your valley trash prom queen has done NOTHING that I can think of so far for the state except dangle 1200 to get her ratings back up. She has no experience , no Public relation and she is a plain old BULLY with a chip on her shoulder

What direction is that exactly?
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 2008-07-18 17:43.
And how many directions can we go in this state? While we're at it explain the concept of 'new energy' as well. That's sort of like 'change', it's a nebulous concept. It means nothing if you don't explain what exactly you are doing.

Palin's Abuse of Power
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 2008-07-18 14:01.
The messages on this blog seem to be concentrating on the issue with Trooper Wooten; however, I see some other truths in your message. "Walt Monegan got fired because he had the audacity to tell Governor Palin no, when apparently nobody is allowed to say no to Governor Palin." "According to the Legislative Finance Agency, the public safety budget in fy09 was cut by .06% while the governor's own budget increased 22.6%." Since she first took over many shady deals have taken place within the State system. She has appointed friends to exempt positions with no experience in the area they were working in. These people then proceed to run their Departments or Divisions as they see fit, promoting employees in the classified services promotions without a recruitment process, changing job duties at will (without rewriting job decsriptions), rewriting job descriptions that give some employee promotions to new positions and other employees the work they are supposed to be doing for the "new job". The atmosphere is such that employees cannot say anything about these problems without being punished in various suble and not so subtle ways. The Gov. is also expanding her Anchorage office by about 20 office spaces, requiring other state employees to move so her office can have more space. Someone should look into the turnover that happened in many departments. Look at the number of long term employees that left, look at the number of vacancies, look at how long it takes to fill vacancies. Morale among State employees is as low as I have ever seen it in over 20 years. Yet we recently got the following message requesting that we make suggestions on how to cut the budget. "From: Rehfeld, Karen J (GOV) Subject: $20 Million Savings Target Good Morning – I have received some feedback from legislators who are hearing from their constituents that we are “cutting the FY09 budget” and impacting services. In response, I explained the governor’s concern about managing the growth in the operating budget and her goal in setting the $20 million savings target. I let them know that we have asked agencies to see what we may be able to accomplish in savings in FY09 by managing those things we have control over, finding efficiencies, and implementing changes in business processes and practices that could ultimately result in some savings. We used 2.9% of GF personal services to establish the savings target so that departments would have a number to work toward, but we did not suggest that savings would have to come from personal services. We encourage departments to look at all line items for potential savings. We typically end up with a GF lapse at the end of the year without imposing any savings targets. We have NOT asked agencies to cut services or positions. We have suggested delaying the filling of vacant positions or reassigning work, if possible, to achieve some savings. " I am thinking that maybe Walt Monegan told her that her could not cut the budget further without cutting services. There are many other things happening that people are afraid to talk about because we need our jobs.

Firing Monegan is an "evil thing to do". Be an example.

Gov. Palin should be replaced!!!I think you fired the wrong person, with good experienced. May be Monegan can take your place.how that it sound? with No job? I think Gov. Palin you over exercise your power. I believe this is an example of doing "evil ways" to good people who are humble to help our community. You have probably set an example for the situation (ie. divorce). This is a very bad situation to jump on because of your sister? Where is that support you can provide to this difficult family situation. You cannot just side your sister? What about your brother in law? He also need your support. Why are you thinking of firing him? In short this is one example of doing "evil thing" to your neighbor instead of being a "peacemaker"

The Govornor's reponse about Wooten is alarming
Submitted by Anchorage_Conservative (not verified) on Fri, 2008-07-18 08:03.
I know, I got a warm hug from my ex last week. Attended our daughter's graduation and we now our only concern is our kids well-being. We talk a lot about our kid’s futures. She is a wonderful woman, went through a lot in her life -- and is getting ahead. But, at one time she was mad, said "I wish you were dead!". But that was a couple years ago when she was in a relationship with her "New real Man". Oh, he turned out to be an alcoholic dreamer and it didn’t work out for them. Where were the kids? they were at home with her. She is now married and seems "Almost content". But the other day at dinner at a restaurant with our daughter you could tell she was a little lonely and when she looked at me it was with these: "I wish it could be the same as it was before...look" ... We managed to get through our separation and avoid the vicious emotional trauma of a bitter divorce... But, there have been times when feeling were hurt, and dreams dashed. We've both come to realize that for life, it is getting better. We've both moved on and now have our own families with kids... But, like I said before, the welfare and future of our kids are our focus now...Why? Because although we recovered and made it through the nastiness of a broken family, our kids still once in a while walk over and hug their parent and cry... ...maybe after the Palins’ and the Wootens’ "wake up" and see how really terrible this is on the kids...they will realize … all the mud-slinging, and vicious accusations are like salt in the gaping emotional wounds they are inflicting on their kids. Our Governor needs to grow up... The whole bunch of them need to take a step back... and concern themselves with their kids and “stand down”

I find it very interesting Andy, that you have never held a job outside of the family business. How much experience can one get when daddy owns the store? Apparently you got all the expertise, and you spout your blather the loudest of them all. I knew guys like you in high school and throughout my adult life in the workplace. You see, my dad didn't own the store, so I had to work my ass off and learned to be humble while I was at it. I think everyone is entitled to thier opinion, but I don't think anyone has the right to shout down everyone else. Also, there was a time in this country where if you made accusations about someone, you had better be able to back it up with fact. Can you do that with your allegations against the current governer? You say your "informants" are scared to reveal themselves. From what? This is not some action/mystery movie, it's real life, maybe you should grow up and join the rest of us at it. One thing you need to learn, just because you think it's so, don't mean it is. I have tried to explain this to my daughter who is 28 years old. She is very passionate about some things, however, she repeats things told to her by others that are not true. She will find out one day, when she learns the hard way that people like to boast about untrue things to get noticed..........kinda like you Andy.

Andrew's Response:

So growing up working in successful family business that employees Alaskans around the state is a bad thing?

As opposed to what? Say, a governor who has no private sector experience and has held only government jobs for the last decade.

Dude, think before you write.

Your story is sketchy..........
Submitted by SoldotnaResident (not verified) on Sat, 2008-07-19 09:42.
I find the veracity of your article to be somewhat in question due to the vague references you allow as fact. You lost, and now you sound like Al Gore. Primarily, your story is frightened at the budget cut of .06, that 6/100ths. Or out of the total budget of over $45,000,000 a cut of around $26,000. Not exactly shocking or a slap in the face to anyone. Next a Trooper investigator finds that a fellow trooper is innocent of all charges...............hmmm. I like almost all the troopers I have met, but that in no way means that they are lily white. He admitted to a game violation that should have relieved him of his firearms. Did they? If your story requires the use of near facts and hearsay to supplement its body, I MUST then consider the source as tainted.

Andrew's Response:

Don't worry..the independent investigator will sort the facts out...no taint there.

Hired by whom? I'm no fan of any politician generally, but if your facts are so compelling, present them to the Attorney General. Or do you claim the catch-22 that the A.G. is in her pocket, negating any evidence you may have. Additionally, I can find no information regarding Mr. Wooten's service of sentence for his game violation. Certainly had I committed this act, I would have paid a hefty fine. Also, to answer another person posting here, NO, I have NEVER poached, (sounds like a Valley past-time) and hold those that do poach in my lowest disregard. Finally, I appreciate your honesty in allowing those posts that hold an alternate opinion to your own space on your website. Thank You!

I didn't say it was a bad thing. I said, "you never had real life experience in the real world of work." You went from a job where your daddy owned the place, to state government. Damn dude, tough duty. You had what, 4 whole years in the government sector, and now you are the expert? C'mon get a grip. Just remember, if you ever get a chance to be up there in the Guv's chair, you will be scrutinized for everything you do or have ever done. So go ahead and cast all the stones you want, cuz it will come back to haunt you.

Andrew's Response:

Throwing stones is one thing...lying to the public like the Palin's did is another.

Looks like I wasn;t throwing stones...just pointing out the truth

Timing? The timing was created by the termination of Walt Monegan and the indication that the Wooten case was related. The governor fired Monegan last Friday.

Sarah Palin
Submitted by Calvin from Kenai (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-17 23:49.
Andrew, I emailed you shortly after the election, that you lost, and asked you why you were so hateful in everything you said and wrote about the newly elected governer. You told me "that Sarah Palin had said that she wanted to hear from all Alaskan's about how they thought the state should be run." So because you lost to her, you are her most vocal opponent. I say go live with your "revealing" information and all your "scared" informants. It's pretty easy to make accusations when you don't have to back them up. So, I would like to get this straight, you believe that this Trooper Whooten does not have a problem? He tazes his "step"son because the stepson "wanted it." Give me a frigging break. So if this same kid wants to get drunk or smoke dope, or hookybob behind a bus, the good father, Trooper Whooten, says "sure you can." Remember, all those folks serve at the "pleasure"of the Governer, if they don't tow the line, she is free to fire any and all she wants. It's only when sandbox crybaby's like your self, stir things up that, the public gets all worked up over nothing. I'm pretty sure that Walt Monegon was doing a great job, however, he got fired. Pick up your toys Walt and go home and no crying. I wish all you people would get a life. This is all some of you have to do, is complain when things don't go your way, and make up wild stories to suit your mood. I say, if what Sarah is doing is illeagal, start some criminal action against her, if not, we don't want to hear your whining. You will get another chance to be "gov" in a couple of years, try and make that time memmorable without showing your ass anymore.

that is the stupidest thing i have heard yet ! They serve at the PLEASURE of the governor.................. so she has to have not rhyme or reason to absolutly uproot someones life by firing them when they are doing a fabulous job for the state. That is ludicrious. And the comment about what kind of a dad someone should be, I have to say my dad let me hookybob behind his car, and there are HUNDREDS of parents that buy alcohol for their kids and friend at their house and there are parents that spank their kids when many think that is a terrible form of decipline. I think that when you hear this is sounds much worse than it is. When it is set to a dry tase it is like unto getting shocked by and electric fence. ( That which most children that live around them also touch and try.) The step son went to school the next day and told his friends how cool it was !

If you had seen the paper work and listened to what people are saying even the ones who have talked to trooper wooten, HE HAS NEVER SAID THAT HE DID NOT DO SOME OF THE THINGS, He admitted right when asked about the things he did. He was actually asked of his step son to pepper spray him, at which point trooper wooten said absoluty not i am not going to do something to hurt you. Then his son continued to beg him to taser him with a dry taser i think it is called " for just one second " his step sons words. Trooper Wooten in the paperwork admitted he should not have done it and just told him no. Molly was there for the whole thing and then son even called and talked to his grandpa about it and good old gramps said cool what did it feel like. UUUUUMMMMMMM ! Wooten never denied the things he did do

Did you just say let family issues be family issues ?????????????????????????????????????? How would you like to have ever day of your job walking into a fury of complaints for over a year and being scrutinized at the expense of the state of alaska. Family issues were made state issues when the palin/heath family starting this persuit to get trooper wooten at all costs. If you cant see the proof that this was not wooten taking this from a family issue you are one confused citizen. This all did not come out from wooten, this came out from reports and tv people calling him. Reporters are saying he is saying no comment, you can find what you want in paperwork leave me and my children out of it. Also these things " tasering " "moosehunt " ALL happened years before the divorce and Mike was called "their night in shining armour " around the heath household, he had saved their little molly. So then he decideds to leave and now all this they have a problem with. Live in those shoes for a couple months and then say leave family issues in the family.

Governors childish comments this evening on the news
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-17 22:15.
I can not help it now ! I have to comment on a interview that our precious leader made on the new tonight. I will be right honest is saying that i am a very close friend to trooper wooten and this is how i know of this incident. On sundays it is normal for the children to be picked up at 10:30 on sundays by their mother. In june wooten has 10 days visitation with his children, during his ten days he had the opportunity to go teach at the acadamey. Before he accepted he asked if molly would mind letting him split up his ten days and take five then and five when he returned. She said that would be fine. He tood his five days and left for the academy. When he returned there was a message on his home phone ( her knowing he was at the academy ) saying that she would be leaving for las vegas with the children for 12 days. This is absolutly against the law as she was taking them during his normal scheduled time, plus she had agreed to let him have the kids for the other five days when he returned from academy. So when she returned he picked up the children for his weekend and said he would be taking his other five days that were awarded him. She said nothing and then showed up on sunday to pick up the children. Mike told her that she had already agreed to him taking his five days and that the children are planning on staying with him. She through a fit and starting calling the police. Very intresting that Molly doenst call the wasilla pd being that they were in wasilla but the troopers were called and mike was called by a trooper. He explained the situation at which point the trooper said I know it sucks and i understand that you had an agreement with her but if it not written down then you have to give them back. This woman has absolutly no interest in what is best for these kids as she sat there and called the police on their father in front of them because he only wanted the time that she told him he could have. THIS MY FRIENDS IS WHAT HE HAS DEALT WITH FOR 5 YEARS. Now if anyone here can not see through this silliness i dont really know what to say. And it is real interesting that Sararh is pulling out one of her old ones of Mike saying he is going to take down this family. All mike as wanted from the beginning is to have the children half of the time that supposedly in alaska that is what is favorable to the court system, but boy this guy sure has to fight tooth and nail to get any time with his. I am sure that this story to can also be verified through the troppers with whoever spoke with mike that day. He most certaily did not say those childish things about taking down the family. they are doing that on their own ! GROW UP SARAH GET OUR OF YOUR SISTERS SHIT YOU R NOT GOD sorry mike i know you want to stay out of this as mush as possible couldnt help it

I do not know where you got the impression that Alaska Courts
Submitted by gcp (not verified) on Fri, 2008-07-18 12:23.
exercise some sort of preference for shared custody. Nothing could be further from the truth! However, until the laws are changed to make shared custody the norm, women like Molly McCann, my ex and all of the other women out there who put their childrens' needs last and carry out long-winded vendetta's against their ex-husbands will never be stopped. Women like that think of their children as trophies to be won, rather than seeing them as impressionable human beings who's childhood hurts will stay with them for a lifetime. Manipulation of custody schedules, calling cops not because they need them but because they can, withholding visits because they have some need to exercise "power" over another, frivolous claims in lawsuits, participating in illegal activities while married and blaming the other spouse for them after the divorce, all of these actions are clearly indicative of narcissistic behavior from people who really should not be raising children in the first place. The plain truth is that children should have equal and open access to both of their parents because these circumstances are the only hope that children of divorce have of living some resemblence of a "normal" life. Reading Mike Wooten's tale of woe has been almost like reading my own story lived by another man. Until the Legislature tells the Courts that fully shared custody (50/50 across the board, barring the presence of extreme extenuating circumstances)is to be the law in this State, women like Molly and my ex will continue to run roughshod over their families, creating emotional scars within their children that may never heal, and abusing expensive public resources in the process. I am fortunate that my "ever-lovin' ex" doesn't have access to Palin or her Cabinet, or I might be next on Governor Revenge's hit list. Then again, since she used to work with Leighow, I might receive a visit from our Governor or one of her misguided minions tonight! Sarah Palin needs to be impeached for abuse of power and she needs to go away now. The facts are down in black and white in the form of sworn Court documents and it is painfully clear that this person has NO business running our State. The Legislature needs to shoot down AGIA on Monday. Barring that they should table the discussion until the next session, while they determine how many lies have been shoved their direction on this issue by a Governor who is OBVIOUSLY challenged where telling the truth is concerned. Sarah lied in her public statement yesterday, she lied on the news last night and she has been caught lying to us regarding other issues of importance to our State. Sarah must either step down, or impeachment proceedings must be started immediately. Sarah Palin must be stopped from doing any further damage to our State. I plan to contact the entire Legislature today and strongly urge them to do two things: 1. Stop AGIA in it's tracks on Monday and, 2. Immediately put a Special Prosecutor with Subpoena powers in place to thoroughly investigate this ethically challenged Governor, so that we can have all of our i's dotted and t's crossed when we unceremoniously remove her lying ass from office.

Governor Palin put in a written statement that she offered Commissioner Monegan the position at the ABC board so he could use his experience and energy to better effect the alcohol problems in western Alaska. What a crock!! ABC doesn't intercept bootlegging and illegal alcohol transport in the Bush, the Troopers do that. In fact, it is listed in their mission statement as one of the highest priorities. See the irony? Palin doesn't even recognize how off base her impromptu "justification" was, because she apparently doesn't even know the responsibilities and duties of various departments well enough to distinguish what ABC does (alcohol compliance for licensed establishments) and what AST does. She took Monegan AWAY from a position where he was causing to be done exactly what she claimed he should do if moved. She was about as prepared for this as Kopp was to answer questions about the sexual harassment allegations against him. On TV he looked like he swallowed a toad or something. It was really pathetic. Understand this, nothing in Kopp's experiences at the Kenai police department have prepared him to effectively serve as the Commissioner for the Department of Public Safety. He is way over his head on this one, and it will show. I just hope the public and the working Troopers don't have to suffer too much until this bad situation created by Palin gets fixed.

Tisk, Tisk, Tisk. Governor
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-17 21:39.
Tisk, Tisk, Tisk. Governor Palin and her family seem to be chastizing Officer Wooten for allegedly driving his trooper vehicle while intoxicated, yet is it possible that Governor Palin's brother Chuck Heath is the same person listed in the court records as having numerous DUI's. If that's her brother then I think the Palin/Heath family needs to back up and take a good look at themselves. Not that I condone anyone from driving while intoxicated, because I don't, however someone probably should look into that further. I would call that extremely hypocritical, should that be the case. After reading this blog I am thoroughly disgusted at Governor Palin and her family should these allegations be true. Using a public office to manipulate the system to be vindictive towards someone for a personal matter is outrageous. Furthermore, the Governor talks so highly about children and family, so unless there are some gross facts to consider about Officer Wooten and why he should not have equal custody, then the Governor and her family should practice what they preach. At this point, I tend to believe Governor Palin is not who she portrayed herself to be and if in fact she and her family have been harrassing Officer Wooten I would consider this just as sickening as the on-going Veco saga.

Your posting here is a complete waste of time, since 99% of the comments have been unfavorable. Since individuals like yourself like to brag about Palin's popularity ratings, you would think that 80% of the comments would be favorable towards Palin. Would love to see a poll right about now. I'm wondering if it could be the most significant drop a politician has seen in less than one week's time ever. I'd go to Vegas on that one, and I'm not a betting woman.

Thank you, Andrew for this article!! I am so disgusted by Sarah's two faced rules. It's what's good for Sarah and only Sarah and screw everyone else. I'm disgusted that she didn't have the stones to fire Walt to his face - but how telling is that? How telling that she's all for transparency until we're asking HER to be transparent?! I'll tell you what....if this new commissioner (who comes off as a major sleeze bag - he reminds me of Vic Kohring) fires Holloway....there'd better be a whole big comeuppance in Sarah's direction because Walt and Audie were/are the BEST thing to happen to AST in MANY years! I hope that if she in fact asked Walt to fire Trooper Wooten that Walt comes forward. He has nothing to lose. And this lame sound bite from Sarah that Walt could better serve the State as the Commissioner of ABC and that alcohol is a serious problem in the Bush and that's the "new" direction she wants to take? She's full of crap. Alcohol problems in the Bush will always be a problem. God help Trooper Wooten? God help our Alaska State Troopers. She's a liar. And I'm SO done with you, Sarah Palin. I never thought I'd say this, but you're worse than *gulp* Frank Murkowski. Let's see: You're screwing us out of a pipeline deal; you're putting your friends or people you can intimidate or have no brain of their own in positions of power (high school buddy Joe Schmidt, etc.); you lie about budget cuts....yeah Sarah....you're transparent alright.

Budget Issues
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-17 16:55.
While the "juicy" part of this story is the possibility of impropriety on the Governors part. I see the underlying, much overlooked issue here being the first part of the article, the budget issues. As I and many others have been crying for months, Alaska is NOT SAFE. As Mr. Cyr wrote in his ADN compass piece recently, Alaska is and has been #1 in forcible rape; we are #3 in assaults and #1 in Alcohol related assaults. Alaska is ranked the 2nd most dangerous place to raise a child IN THE NATION. This should shock and offend every good citizen of this state! The governor speaks now of improving recruitment and retention of State Troopers, yet just months ago, during Trooper contract negotiations, it was the Troopers who were begging the state to make their jobs more attractive so they could improve recruitment and retention, and the governor and her negotiators ignored them. Commissioner Krietzer of the DOA told Mr. Cyr, to his face, that if Troopers didn't like their jobs, they could quit and if that left vacancies then so be it! Does this sound like an administration that fully supports public safety and its Troopers to you? That doesn't sound like someone who wants to "improve recruitment and retention" to me. They might as well have said; "If your daughter is raped or your son assaulted because there were shortages of Troopers, so be it." Alaska is becoming one of the most dangerous states in the country and Mr. Monegan knew it, but Sarah didn't want to hear it. I believe this is just as important as her treatment of Trooper Wooten.

Palin owes explanation in firing of Walt Monegan

Palin owes explanation in firing of Walt Monegan, By John Cyr "The governor must be aware of the abysmal crime statistics in Alaska. She ran her campaign on a platform of public safety. These statistics are a disgrace. Alaska ranks No. 1 in forcible rape, No. 3 in aggravated assault, 15th in vehicle theft and 22nd in murder and manslaughter."

Recruitment and Retention
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-17 18:43.
The only way to improve recruitment and retention without lowering our standards is to increase incentives for new recruits as well as those already serving as Troopers. The State is flush with cash, the Governor is willing to give each of us a check for $1200, yet we can't afford to provide a decent wage for our men and women who put their lives on the line every day so the rest of us can sleep peacefully at night? To All Troopers: Thank you for the sacrifices made by you and your families so that Alaska can remain a great place to live. Thank you for your courage. You are men and women of honor. Please, be safe always! To All Alaskans: Write and call your legislators. Demand that they fully fund the Division of Alaska State Troopers. Ultimately, our lives depend on it!

Dare I admit to being a potential recruit. I am concerned that all the good I saw in a career as a State Trooper has such a Black Cloud hanging over it. I am an optimist by nature, but must admit that this is taxing my optimism. I love the ideals of honor, integrity, and service that this career contains. I hope that the future family of my fellow Alaskans can get this straightened out before I commit to relocate myself and my family. Let me know that my optimism is not misplaced.

Thank you for getting the truth out!
Submitted by John Wooten (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-17 16:00.
My name is John Wooten and I am Trooper Wooten's older brother. I have been a Firefighter/Paramedic for over 15 years and I have never seen a public saftey officer treated in such a crude and disrespectful manner by an elected official. My brother is an honorable man who loves his children, family, State and most of all being a Trooper. Mike may get mad at me for writing this but somebody needs to let his feelings be heard here. I have spent many hours on the phone with my brother since all of the harrassment started from the Gov and her family, a family whom once told me Mike was the best thing that ever happened to them. I guess what they meant was, he was the best thing that happened to them as long as he stayed married to Molly. My brother was very proud of becoming an Alaska Trooper and he is very good at it. However, recently Mike has been considering quitting his job with the Troopers because of all the harrassment and complaints against him by the Palin/Heath families. While he has no other job prospects he is still thinking of quitting so the harrassment will stop. I think if that happened the citizens of Alaska would lose a true asset and protector. My brother is a hard working man who loves his children with all his heart. He is the kind of father most men only wish they could be. You should see him with those kids. They love him and he loves them. This is not fair to him or them. I am thankful this story is finally being publicized and the truth may finally become public. I love my brother and I am very proud of him. I support him all the way with what ever decision he makes. I thank you for all of your comments and support for Trooper Wooten. Mike, I love you and stay the course.

Just to let you know, my family has lived in the valley for years and Palin was definitely not an asset to the rescue teams out there, and it was clear from what my mother was saying that she was playing some pretty raunchy political games. I DID NOT VOTE for Palin and for many other reasons, will not vote for her in the future. I pray for Trooper Wooten. Personally, of all the times I've ever been pulled over (I'm notorious for expired tags), it was always the Troopers that were real gentlemen and officers. As long as I was honest with them, they gave me a chance to correct my problem before they wrote me up. And I always did because they treated me like a real human being. God bless you and yours, Mandy

Certainly no one really enjoys having their private life so exposed so I can understand why he may be wanting to avoid the spotlight. All I can say is thanks and please let your brother know that there are those of us out here very concerned about him and Monegan as well. One more thing, please tell him not to give up, that would mean victory for the Palin/Heath families. Justice will be served.

Hark! forth from the abyss a voice proceeds

LXXXIV The dictatorial wreath -- couldst thou divine To what would one day dwindle that which made Thee more than mortal? and that so supine By aught than Romans Rome should thus be laid? She who was named Eternal, and array'd Her warriors but to conquer -- she who veil'd Earth with her haughty shadow, and display'd, Until the o'er-canopied horizon fail'd, Her rushing wings -- Oh! she who was Almighty hail'd! CLXVII Hark! forth from the abyss a voice proceeds, A long low distant murmur of dread sound, Such as arises when a state bleeds With some deep and immedicable wound; Through storm and darkness yawns the rending ground, The gulf is thick with phantoms, but the chief Seems royal still, though with her head discrown'd, And pale, but lovely, with maternal grief She clasps a babe, to whom her breast yields no relief. XCIV And thus they plod in sluggish misery, Rotting from sire to son, and age to age, Proud of their trampled nature, and so die, Bequeathing their hereditary rage To the new race of inborn slaves, who wage War for their chains, and rather than be free, Bleed gladiator-like, and still engage Within the same arena where they see Their fellows fall before, like leaves of the same tree. XCVI Can tyrants but by tyrants conquer'd be, And Freedom find no champion and no child Such as Columbia saw arise when she Sprung forth a Pallas, arm'd and undefiled? Or must such minds be nourish'd in the wild, Deep in the unpruned forest, 'midst the roar Of cataracts, where nursing Nature smiled On infant Washington? Has Earth no more Such seeds within her breast, or Alaska no such shore? CVIII There is the moral of all human tales; 'Tis but the same rehearsal of the past, First Freedom, and then Glory -- when that fails, Wealth, vice , corruption, -- barbarism at last. And History, with all her volumes vast, Hath but one page, -- 'tis better written here Where gorgeous Tyranny hath thus amass'd All treasures, all delights, that eye or ear, Heart, soul, could seek, tongue ask -- Away with words! draw near, CXXXIX And here the buzz of eager nations ran, In murmur'd pity, or loud-roar'd applause, As man was slaughter'd by his fellow-man. And wherefore slaughter'd? wherefore, but because Such were the bloody Circus' genial laws, And the imperial pleasure. -- Wherefore not? What matters where we fall to fill the maws Of worms -- on battle-plains or listed spot? Both are but theatres -- where the chief actors rot. Excerpts from CHILDE HAROLD'S PILGRIMAGE (4th Canto)

I'm not steamed. I think it was just shock that McCain would pick someone with as little popularity and experience as Palin. But the more I think about it, the more I think liberals should back off and act like she is ok. Because I wouldn't want McCain to get rid of her, and replace her with Romney or Pawlenty, because then he might actually have a chance of winning. Palin is not savvy or knowledgeable enough about big elections or the federal government, and she will hang herself through her own ignorance soon enough.

Palin is not savvy or knowledgeable enough about big elections or the federal government, and she will hang herself through her own ignorance soon enough.

Btw, here is her 16 years of executive experience. This is a picture of Wasila city hall. [link to i34.tinypic.com]

I'm not steamed. I think it was just shock that McCain would pick someone with as little popularity and experience as Palin. But the more I think about it, the more I think liberals should back off and act like she is ok. Re: WHY ARE DEMS SO STEAMED OVER SARAH PALIN?
It is weird how steamed up democrats are by this VP Candidate. They must feel really threatened. Talk about elminating the bounce from Obama's supposedly great speech! What a laugh. Then they attack Palin in the most vicious and hateful possible ways which will only play against the genuine liberal base in the country who are decent people and get turned off by this sort of slime.

Anyway, I was thinking about voting for Obama, but after seeing the true face of the slimes over at that kos website, and understanding it is one of the most popular democrat partisan websites on the web, it would be really hard for me to vote for Obama now. It is like even if you happened to agree with David Duke on policy issues and thought he was a decent guy, the fact he is supported by racist, degenerate slime would kind of turn you off the idea, wouldn't it? Same as. I've never seen such an inhuman attitude in American politics like that portrayed by the kos goons, unless you look at white supremacists and similar ilk, that is why I made the comparison.

Peace.
