At virtually all major intersections, you'll see a small unit with a lens mounted above the tricolor signal lights. These are actually strobe-sensors which will automatically change the light to allow emergency vehicles top pass through safely. Ever wonder why ambulances all have those bright flashing strobes on their lightbars? That's why. BTW: any strobe that flashes around 10 cycles will activate those signal-control units... and [of course] you can find easy-to-build plans online to duplicate your own strobe that will work with them. THEY ARE ALSO ILLEGAL IN EVERY U.S. STATE and carry a felony conviction if you get caught using one, or worse if your horseplay results in a traffic accident. Of course, if you're in the U.K. they are REAL cameras and you're already fucked. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 466105 United States 07/10/2008 09:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In my town in west coast America, they originally put some large white-cover video surveillance cameras up over a bridge over the river that runs through town. There was a lot of hoopla about it. They installed four cameras and assured everyone it was just to monitor traffic for safety reasons. I think that was about 15 years ago. Today there are cameras everywhere but there has never been another word about it. Every time they work on a street light or at a traffic intersection for any reason, when they leave there is a big white camera there. Who is putting them there? City? State? Federal? Who is watching? Nobody says a word about it. Even a local park, which is in the woods, now has big white cameras strung up through the park and the forest trails. What?? It's really disturbing because there is no word about it. This is a pretty small town. I was recently in Las Vegas and they have white cameras at every intersection - and these are not the kind that take a picture if you go through a red light. These are straight-up white-case high quality video cameras. In Las Vegas I counted as many as twelve per intersection, covering every possible angle of the area. It's bad enough if they tell everyone that they are now monitoring you and the population out in the open.. But they say nothing, and you can't find out what they are being used for or who exactly is watching them. |

Because, I have not yet seen one at a main intersection near the local county hospital , but I do see them mounted (recently) where traffic is heavy with shoppers and local residents! And right under that particular light they changed the traffic pattern to one lane merge that would easily create a bottle neck and generate more tickes, more $$, without even a cop in sight. Is it my imagination or is there something to this design? |

I think they are linked to the fusion centers currently being implemented by Homeland Security across the nation. Face recognition and license plate recognition. Police state stuff for sure. |

And you don't have to be speeding, just entering the intersection during a red light, which as I posted originally, can happen if the vehicle in front of you slows down, delaying your crossing. I can see someone at the other end with a cigar, laughing |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 421935 United States 07/10/2008 10:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Keep tabs on where the cameras are...If you have to get somewhere in a heavily surveilled area, find the route with the least cameras. And don't give me that " If you're not breaking the law, you'll be okay" crap...Dirty tricks for revenue have been around for a long time.....Ever have a dirty cop break your tail-light just to give you a ticket? I have! |

c.f. User ID: 464647 United States 07/10/2008 11:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is a certain high level group that is running the cameras (NWO types)...they are there for the future broadcasting of the meltdown of society in America. It will be a new set of "pure deadly violence" channels on cable/satelitte TV in the near future, in certain over-seas countries (and free in US NWO bunkers). "The revolution WILL be televised" (and watched by some sick demented sadistic people). My friend who's sister is half cousins with someone who knows a friend of a mega-top-secret source of this information says there will be different "packages" available, "city"-"state"-"region"-"continental 48". The "city" package is the cheapest and obviously the "continental 48" is the big dog full coast to coast solid gold package. If the SHTF (and I mean a real war here on US soil) take ALL those cameras out quick, marksmen and sharp-shooters alike, those are your 1st targets. (lol) I wouldn't worry about them for just revenue development reasons (traffic fines), hope that sets you at ease. |

WTF SOMEONE DOESNT WANT US TALKING ABOUT THE WHITE SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS!!!! Who paid for them? Who watches and records from them? Are we headed to a London style camera society? Facial recognition? User ID: 466167 United States 07/11/2008 12:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | WOW! THANKS for opening my eyes, folks - I had no idea that rampant surveillance had progressed so much here in the U.S.; oh, I'd expect it in a 24-place like Las Vegas.. but, from your descriptions it is spreading like a plague. Here in Wichita KS I honestly haven't noticed a proliferation of intersection cameras, but I can guarantee I'll start paying more attention. |
c.f. User ID: 464647 United States 07/11/2008 12:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "my question is, what is the most effective way to dispose of one?" If you mean "dispose" as "taking them out", the BEST possible way is to find an extremely ugly side-kick and a large wooden folding ladder. Have the ugly person look directly into the lens from about 3-4 feet away. If your ugly side-kick is either shot on a mission or just so dammmmm ugly that you have trouble eating when getting back to your "camp", have an artist create a very life-like portrait ahead of time just in case. I would recommend a photograph of them would be better, but they will break your camera in the attempt...if they don't, they will be ineffective on the other NWO cameras. Nail the "ugly-portrait" to a long stick and again hold it about 3-4 feet from the lens, that should break it almost instantly. Another method might involve rifles plinking them until there are only a few wires left up there...but I wouldn't know about that. |

Apparently, if they cannot produce a facial photo of the driver, then they cannot ticket the licensed owner of the vehicle. I believe there was some recent controversy about some city caught rigging the lights in the attempts at pulling in projected quotas. I read the article online but I'm having problems locating it. listen with your heart feel through your eyes and speak with your spirit |
