I do understand this. It is not white people's place to call out the problems of the black community. I'm not saying white people can't but that's just used to reinforce the "all white people are racist" narrative so it hits different if a mostly classy (I dislike some of the stuff Candace says) educated black woman calls out the "socially maladapted black behavior".

There has been a lot social deconstruction of shame. In some ways this has been good, in other ways, not so much. I can't stand that two of my daughters walk around with their asses hanging out. I've tried teasing them about it, hoping they might get the point. Recently I finally told them I'd be ashamed of myself dressing that way in front of my father! Have some respect! I didn't raise them that way. I asked how they would feel if their future daughters dressed like that and one said her children are going to be dressed like the Amish. Ha! Not if you're walking around dressed like that to which she said would not dress like that in front of her children. So there IS a line!
