USS Kitty Hawk has suddenly left Hong Kong port

Ships are sometimes better off out in open sea than in port in major storms.

Don't know about this particular instance, however.

USS Kitty Hawk to Participate in RIMPAC 2008

PEARL HARBOR --( Jun 23 08 ) USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) will replace USS George
Washington (CVN 73) in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2008 Exercise
scheduled to take place in the Hawaiian operating area from June 29
through July 31.
A fire occurred onboard USS George Washington on May 22 while the ship
was at sea. The ship is currently in port at Naval Air Station North
Island, San Diego, conducting repairs to spaces and equipment affected
by the fire. The timeline for repairs to the ship has not yet been
determined.

Who can verify that Kitty left 100+ on shore? Very sig. if true.

I made a similar prediction back on May 2, 2008. I've had the idea that Iran might attack first when it sees a clear indication that the US will attack. I give a rough idea of how I think it will happen and how long it will last.

Since I posted that, several things have occurred that increased the likelihood of an Iranian first strike on our fleet, in my opinion. The latest incident being Israel's war game that showed it may be prepping to attack Iran. Also I think that some clearer indications of support for Iran are starting to come from larger powers, including Russia.

But I tend to think that the aircraft carrier leaving port has more to do with approaching storms, not sudden calls to go to war. They'd have waited for the 100 guys if that was the case.
