Dont mean to be nosey, but what income avg. do you fall under? I think they are doing this to the low income families.


I got the same letter - "understanding your stimulas payment". Got it last week and it says my refund will be $900 ($600 for me + 1 child) and I will get it by June 20th (which I didnt get it yet...grrr.)

It doesn't say anything about being under review.

However- its funny you mention the poor people getting ripped off. I think something is up here, and I was just talking to my mom about it this morning.

She's only getting $900. $300 for her, and $300 each for 2 children. We both thought it was going to be $1200.

Here's what a lot of people didn't know, which is stated on the letter i just got:

"However, if the net income tax liability on your 2007 return is less than $300 and you had $3,000 or more in qualifying income, the amount of your stimulus is $300."


So basically, anyone with a lower income, who got more taxes back than they paid in because of child tax credits, earned income credit etc, only get $300 not $600.

That is such BS!!! Those are the people who need it the most!!!
