A multi-ton airplane with no power doesn't glide very well. I'm sure they were looking for the closest thing resembling a runway in their immediate trajectory.

They almost nailed it, considering their immediate situation.

Putting into the woods or a swamp would have likely killed everyone onboard.

Same thing happened here in Asheville 2 months ago. Small plane (flight school) crash landed on I-26. It was oil pressure problems and engine failure.

What makes it worse is for the car that got wrecked. That's some Schleprock level luck going on there.

Eyewitness said dude in car was okay. They showed him here on news sitting upright on a gurney --no blood visible on him, and witness said it looked like he was going to be okay, probably just in major shock. Car, truck, or SUV you can't even tell it was so mangled. Many small miracles that happened here with three people barely making it off burning plane before it exploded.

I fired a black A&P because when I went to check the work on a helicopter(EC135)He was having a hard time getting the bolts into the holes on the tail rotor shaft. I Took a look and he had the shaft completely backward.. 180 degrees out, despite the large yellow arrow with the letters "FWD" right next to it.

If you got out for the reasons you said, other competent mechanic supervisors are too and then no one is even noticing the screw ups. And no one can even get fired for anything so it only gets worse.

These share companies like this one, net-jets and others use "contract" labor that they can call in to fix shit.. around the clock, locals.

Most "contractors" are part timers that make just enough money, doing just enough "work" to pay their bills and buy their pot.

Guessing all of them. At least this is going to be a very visible problem. You can't gaslight or trick gravity. People notice and record large machines on fire on the Interstate. Not sure what today's problem was but two engines lost is not bad luck. The screwup was a big one.

I live literally across the road from the airport the plane left from. Don Scott. Yes, it is the airport where the train in the Aviation program at OSU, but it’s also where the local rich folk keep their planes and take off from. Pretty busy place, not any crazy rumors surrounding it, history of crashes/mistakes, at least not that I’m aware.

Interestingly, in true Ohio fashion, it’s in the middle of the massive main OSU animal pastures for their Ag program. They come down right overtop a TON of cattle and horses. It’s kinda neat actually. I like it. . Huge land grant right in the middle of the NW part of the city. It’s great for my kids, driving out of our neighborhood and then face to face with “their” cows.
