In downtown Dallas, Texas, at the intersection of Main Street and Houston, there is a white granite obelisk-representing the penis of Osiris- topped with the three-fold flame representing the light of intellect.
The inscription at the base of the obelisk reads "Within this small park was built the first home, which also served as the first courthouse and post office, the first store and the first fraternal lodge" -The Historical Marker Database
The marker, erected (no pun intended) in 1940, commemorates the site of the first Masonic lodge in Dallas. The plaza itself is named after George Bannerman Dealey, the founder of the Dallas Morning News and, according to the Handbook of Texas Online, was a "Thirty-third-degree Scottish Rite Mason, Knight Templar, Shriner, and member of the Red Cross of Constantine."
As we all know, Dealey Plaza was later the site of the murder of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. His motorcade took a right turn on Houston St, where the marker was placed, and veered left onto Elm Street. At the exact spot equidistant from the Masonic marker and the Texas School Book Depository where Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly fired, (check Google Maps) the fatal headshot blew Kennedy's brains out the back of his head.
Those who know history know that November 22nd is a notorious date to the Freemasons, because it was on that day back in 1307 that Pope Clement issued a papal bull, Pastoralis Praeeminentiae, ordering the arrests of all known Templars in Europe. Of course, the Scottish Rite of Freemasons is an organization began by the exiled Templars.
Exactly 656 years later, the Order avenged its suppression against a Catholic President. The usurper, Lyndon Baines Johnson, initiated into the Order on October 30, 1937 in Johnson City Lodge No. 561, at Johnson City, Texas.
