LOL....as a 19yr old senior gunner, I was hand receipted for 2 mil worth of gear....ended up having to pay for some small tools in the maintenance kit when I left.....what kinda idiots thought a 19yr old was good for 2 mil?.....

In the AF you sign out and are accountable for every rivet, screw or nut and bolt you take out to repair an aircraft. Its not fun when you remove nine rivets from an A10 and yet you only have eight when your done.

Sadly, the dude will still have a 4 year Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) commitment. That is 4 years during which the gubmint can call him back to active duty. As shitty as the world is right now, I won't be at all surprised if this kid winds up wearing the uniform again.

At 20 years old I was a 44E20 and was on the hook for about 50k in equipment signed out to me. If in a combat zone Top told me to leave it, I would have left it no questions asked. They are hitting this guy for leaving his TA-50 in a combat zone that he was ordered to leave because there wasn't enough room on the chopper. That's fucked up.
