We made a potent tea from boiling seed pods and making tea I tripped for 3 to 5 days and ended up in hospital. Datura like other tropanes containing plants is a true hallucinogen.

It makes you see and live things that don't exist and never happened but you perceive them and remember them as being as real as non-intoxicated reality.

In my observation and interaction of persons under such influence I am confident to say it is 100% driven by the intoxicated's person imagination.

Well, your post has made some of us aware of how stupid you and others are here. FFS you have access to the internet, so why don't you do some research, like for instance datura seeds contain hyoscyamine and scopolamine, highly toxic alkaloids. There are plenty of other less toxic plant teachers around, do some research.

I bought some dried datura leaves to smoke but I’ve been careful not to do too much.

I could also brew it into tea…

But the consequences of doing too much has scared me.

I would be willing to give it a good go only if I had a reliable babysitter who would prevent me from doing anything stupid. Those people are hard to find.

Im an ethnobotanist, ive studied medicinal and psychoactive plants in many countries, with many endemic people groups. Datura is by far the most dangerous and powerful hallucinagen Ive encountered in all my studies and experience. No doubt what youre saying is true, and many very effective shaman know how to use it. I knew a german guy who did the seeds, dont know the dose, but it was relatively low dose. Anyway, he burned half his moms house down, they found him in the garden, bled out from cutting his tongue out and penis off with a razorblade, he survived after many pints of blood and a couple weeks in the hospital with delerium.

Just be careful with your explorations.

Also many children die yearly from messing with the plant. Not a light weight specimen.

It's dangerous shit, it can leave you brain damaged or even dead.

And yes Jimson Weed is Datura. There are other similar plants, possibly even more dangerous, Deadly Nightshade, Henbane and the hard to find Mandrake. These are often ingredient in witches' flying ointment recipes

Maybe you mean Brugmansia? Same family as Datura, Solanaceae.

Sounds like a lot of seeds to take...I've never tried it but I heard of people adding the plant to their joints and smoking it...I grew a datura plant a few years ago...absolutely beautiful!!! The seeds are illegal in some States. Have you tried the orange trumpet flower ? There are different varieties... I grew the ones with beautiful cream colored flowers ...trumpet shaped but different than the orange trumpet flowers. I have a lot of the orange ones that grow here on this 55 acres.

All the same thing basically ....

This young chick who was popping any drug she could find came to visit me one day and she was a bit confused and started telling me stories that happened to her earlier in the day.

So she told me she went to Hoffman's laboratory and that later her father went to find her there and had an argument with Hoffman, threatened to kill him, etc, I don't remember how the story ended.

I was quite puzzled as I knew her father well and knew he was not around that day, gone on a trip, and said nothing and let her talk. Then I figured out Hoffman was Albert Hoffman, the chemist who invented LSD. Yet later I realized from what she further told me that she drank an infusion of anti-asthma cigarettes which contain Datura.

So you see, a whole adventure happened to her that day which actually didn't happen at all but that she remembered as real and it was all driven by the conflicts she was having with her dad about her drug consumption.

That kind of stuff doesn't happen with LSD and similar drugs, you generally always know you are tripping while you do and never experience or remember imaginary events indistinguishable from normal reality in my experience.

As I saw it and understood it, never done tropanes myself.

That class of substances is called Deliriants because they can cause delirium-like states.

Generally, solanaceous trees and tree sized plants should be handled with extreme care.
Scopalamine is derived from the same family. Plenty of horror stories out there of people that got dusted and lives ruined.
