Have shared this with many friends and family. None of them knew that you don't have to answer the traffic stop questions "where are you coming from / going to / can you please open the trunk" and similar fishing expedition q's from LEO's.

Of course, there's a balance. You don't want to be a dick to a cop because that's a recipe for more trouble. You'll get the old "I smell something" or "your window tint is too dark" or standard BS cop tactics to violate your rights.

In Hudson county, nj, it's not just the police, it's fire fighters and possibly all gov employees.

In my building, we have had an unusual number of sanitary line breaks that are reported to insurance companies (if reported at all; corrupt longtime condo board members use common fees to throw work to selected contractors from whom they get tax-free kickbacks) as toilet equipment problems.

Insurance companies don't investigate, they just raise their charges.

Many cops, firemen, etc., are contractors and get work this way. But as gentrification continues, the newcomers know not to use the locals.

It helps alot that the present construction official is not corrupt.

The same cannot be said for other depts like health and fire.

Yeah, these guys behave like sociopaths and are a good reason to privatize many of these services, including environmental (cleaning) services.

Most importantly you do NOT have to be detained or arrested to exercise the right to remain silent! Never speak to the police for any reason, ever.

If Law Enforcement Officers / Agents want to talk to you and you are not under arrest it is because they need you to talk yourself into a prison cell. Remember lying to a non federal cop is at the most usually a Misdemeanor. Lying to a fed agent is a FELONY!

If you are being questioned but not under arrested REPEAT AFTER THEY ASK EVERY QUESTION, "I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY."

If you have been arrested and they want to interrogate you just say, "I WANT AN ATTORNEY" and nothing else.

Doing this can save you from PRISON.
