I never use those self check outs. The local metro has like 4 cashier girls standing around over there watching people self check out, there is 1 or 2 lane check outs open and I always take the lane check out.

So one of the four girls comes up to me as I am about 3 back in line at the normal old lane check out and says I can take you over here.. I said "how about you and one other girl open up 2 more lane check outs.. ? I said "I don't work here and don't get paid to ring up my shit, not to mention self check outs are putting girls like you out of work so think about it"..

I swear some people have no base critical thinking or core logic to any of their thinking.

The same thing happened at the pharmacy check out. The same girl for years always rang me up then one day they got a self check out. There is 5 people using the girl to ring people up and I am 5th in line because I know the self check out is stupid all around as it helps no one but the company.

The girl says to me; "how come you didn't use the self check out" I said " in a month you will be unemployed if we start using it, is that what you want?" She laughed and said no etc.. I said ok then lets keep you in a job.

A month later she was gone and so were about 4 other girls who worked there. They would kind of stock shelves and do the check out if someone was trying to pay. Now there is 1 girl and 1 self check out and at minimum 5 of them laid off or let go etc.

The whole thing is stupid. The price of our items hasn't gone down, now they want me to ring up my own shit? They are paying us to do it and even if they did why would we do it ?

They gonna say it's all for YOUR convenience and safety !

Nobody ever asked for this, like cashier less store are now common, it's start little then grow into normality.

How do you stop this in the long run?

You wont need a QR code soon, it will just use facial recognition and how you walk, the A.I. will ID everyone 100% correct.

Matters not if your chip is in your phone or your head, facial recognition and/or your gait (how you walk) will enable them to track you 24/7 anyway.

Robots will detain those who don't comply with the rules and they will be sent to a correctional treatment center.

You dumb paranoid lot! Again failing to see the need for this and the good, this system should be installed on all supermarkets and even smaller convenience shops.

The higher cost of living is having a huge effect on small crime/theft, its starting to be a real problem over here.

As a law abiding citizen currently trying to earn an honest living, I'd have no issue handing over some small details to gain access to do my shopping.

I have nothing to hide and I'm not currently a criminal.
