Here is the 2019 link ( below at end) to the Dr. Bea and Tony Johnson Report. This is IMO the single most important thing you can read about O Dam.

Skim through anything about the old spillways, that is now outdated, other than to understand the incredible neglect and inept management they received for years.

Look at pages 40 and 41 carefully, and read about the gates. Understand that DWR in the form of Erin Mellon, spokeslady, brushed it all off in public with "the gates are fine".

Also understand that instead of fixing them almost immediately, which was possible to try at the time (not sure about COVID supply chain issues later), they are supposed to be replaced one gate per year starting this year. ( hum, you have to keep the water level below 813 or whatever to even think about replacing them.) This is a good point for anybody who thinks the Agenda 2030 plan to rewild the central valley and bring down the dam is the real plan.

See pages 42 and 42 on leaks in the main dam and the abutments. Allegedly the leaks by the gates have had some grouting. According to Scott Cahill, Dam Remediation expert, the whole mess needs to be grouted like a mouth full of cavities, and all over the rest of the world, this is what you do with leaky dams. But not Oroville.
