This is unprecedented in this region. Anyone else experiencing the dense haze and the orange sun? The reflection the sun makes on the ground and other things is creepy AF. Below is a picture of the current AQI in the northeast region. [link to gispub.epa.gov (secure)] Hey OP, yes - I'm experiencing it here in Ulster NY. It's definitely creepy AF! Just got back from a quick ride into town. People are talking about it and they all seem to be on edge. When I was driving back, the local weather report came on the radio, and NOTHING mentioned abt the air quality (usually air quality is pristine here - one reason why I left NYShitty so many years ago). Not a peep. Sky is mustard yellow. When the smoke shifts, and you get a glimpse of the sun, it's an ominous bright red. o_0 I'm watching the animals - so far the birds are still chirping and the deer aren't making a run for it, but I'm awfully wigged out about this. Weird how no news whatsoever on the matter. But then again, perhaps not weird - given the state of the world these days. I have a feeling that they wouldn't give us a warning of impending doom as far as the fires go.... Thanks for the thread. Please keep this bumped!!! No warnings until they announce “unsafe air” lockdowns. These were DEW created fires. Almost all lite at the same time. They need a way to get folks into their 15 minute cities ya know?? At first I thought it was the sun, as you couldn’t even look at it, it was so bright and hurt the eyes. It was completely red. Never seen that before. Very weird out there, looks like total doom. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78072053 Canada 06/06/2023 08:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Someone posted the sat imagery showing all the fires in queerbec starting at the same time, trying to find the same I saw for the British Columbia and Alberta fires saw a couple showing massive fire breakouts all coming into play in an eerily similar way as the quebec fires video, maybe nova scotia was the same as well. Never in my 50 years have I seen so many fires so quickly, so early and starting in a similar timeframe like the fires this year, from coast to coast. |

This time loop is showing us the forecast that lasts all the way until late Thursday night! And it doesn't end there. Kind of scary to think about Rooster |

Rhode Island was hazy and a red-orange sun most of the day, but no smell. A few days ago, with the fires in Nova Scotia, the air smelled like an electrical or plastic fire. Very weird. But there was no physical effect. No scratchy throat, trouble breathing, coughing, etc., either time. At least for me and everyone I know. |

There is no delay or detour airplane landings. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83961168 That's what we smell here in Pennsylvania No smoke just freshly cut wood That's because it is forest fire smoke spreading on the air currents. I ran them all day and kept the windows closed. But when the wind blew (which was happening all day) you could see a haze even inside so I also ran my large range fan to suck some of that out. Never seen anything like this in the Northeast. It feels pretty apocalyptic and doomy. If that fire burns south the whole country is at risk. This is fucking serious. |
