Police said the driver of one vehicle may have suffered a medical episode and crashed into the bus while it was traveling eastbound on North Temple. The bus then hit two other vehicles in the intersection.

Health authorities have issued an urgent warning after 18 people were hospitalised with severe poisoning and one suffered a cardiac arrest after drinking a popular beverage.

One person suffered a cardiac arrest and another two are in intensive care, according to the Victorian Department of Health.

Deputy chief health officer in Victoria, Angie Bone, said current evidence points to a contaminant in supermarket poppy seeds causing the severe reactions.

Wang and co-workers reported that anti-SARS-CoV spike antisera promoted SARS infection through antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) in vitro. Liu and co-workers reported that anti-SARS-CoV spike immune sera induced by a SARS-CoV vaccine caused acute lung injury by promoting MCP1 and IL-8 production and monocyte or macrophage recruitment and accumulation in SARS-CoV infected macaque models . The previously reported mechanism of action (MOA) of these anti-spike antibodies is ADE-based, in that the antibodies enhance viral infectivity.

Frequent Boosters Spur Warning on Immune Response

European Union regulators warned that frequent Covid-19 booster shots could adversely affect the immune response and may not be feasible.

Repeat booster doses every four months could eventually weaken the immune response and tire out people, according to the European Medicines Agency.
