It was added to the Canon to explain-away the false prophecies of Jesus and Paul that Christ's Kingdom was immine Israel becoming a nation in 1948..and Hal Lindsey's Late Great Planet Earth..threw the world into a completely erroneous view of the future.
And now..the Generation that saw Israel's 'rebirth' has passed..so they were wrong again.
Jesus told His accusers..they will see the Son of Man at the Right Hand of the Father, and coming in the clouds to establish His Earthly Kingdom.
Paul expected the imminent return of Christ..and told the Church at Thessalonica that they would meet the Lord in the air.
If you remove Revelation from the Canon..all you have left are the failed Kingdom prophecies of Jesus and Paul.
2 Peter, which is a forgery, was largely written to explain away why Christ hadn't returned and brought His Kingdom to Earth yet. |
