1970s America had this, gas engine, no refinements...

What happened to innovation, needs updated body lines, better sound proofing, air conditioning and diesel drivetrain. Probably would provide 90+ mpg, EMP proof, home repairable, motorcycle insurance and usefull as a second vehicle.

Off road capabilities were just okay. The hype is not worth it. It was beautiful but sucked.

In europe, they get cayennes, range rovers and Audi Q7s with diesel V8s and air suspension that we can't get in the states. 1000lb-ft of torque with turbo upgrades. 40+ mpg. Out-handle most sports cars and tow 10,000lb with a $100 trans cooler. I'd take a used one each from 2015, the last year before every thing got gay.
