I think part of the problem is that many mega-church leaders are considered great Christians because they have large followings and are so much fun to listen to. However, when many of them are examined, there are really signs that there might be some real distorted issues with some of the beliefs. It can make Christianity look really, really bad because people think those preachers are pure examples.

I listened to lots of videos (youtube) by Justin Peters about false prophets and learned a lot. He exposes many negative things, while being a very devout Christian himself. So, he affirms the Bible and Christianity, but also goes head to head with many false/distorted teachings that seem to put Christianity into a bad light.
