I think China is actually a large importer of LNG. If I remember correctly, they bought a huge amount of Russian LNG a few months ago.

There were reports a while back that because they purchase so much LNG, they will become the intermediary seller of it to other nations. They’ll resell their cargoes to the highest bidders, requiring yuan instead of dollars.

Great way to make bank and begin cutting the US dollar out as an intermediary currency for oil sales.
