Good reason to arrest them. Imagine Russian "journalist" going into your country to produce propaganda. That's exactly what the WSJ is doing all the time. |

The US uses civilians like the reporter to spy on facilities, with all the diversity hires in the last 20 years the attempts are rather ham fisted and the idiots get caught. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75261038 Derp. When your nation is at war, anyone willing to transmit vital information about the state of your nation, it's war effort and it's military to foreign powers is a spy. Dingbats need to wake up. We are at war with Russia. Only the cheaters of NATO expect other nations to do what they would not do. In WW2 America was very sensitive about even their own citizens spreading information to their enemy. "loose lips, sink ships" and all that. They rounded up many Japanese Americans just on the suspicion that they might be spies giving vital information to Japan. But, then NATO and the west has long been hypocrites; telling other nations not to do, what they do regularly. Russia has tightened censorship laws since launching its invasion last year." Quoting: Uncle Gintel [link to www.cnn.com (secure)] They are like a Somali Pirate nation now. This will just further turn all the world news organizations against them. The little scary man bravado doesn't work anymore. Do your homework before posting. Check which nation has banned most news facilities (check a country west of russia) and where most journalists have freak accidents (hint, its not dropping through the window in Russia, but it has something to do with investigating Clintons, Obamas and Bidens). Russian have its history with journalist "accidents" and being an investigative/independent journalist in any ex-soviet state is still dangerous (this includes Poland and for sure the Ukraine ...), but the WSJ arrest is a tit for tat reaction. |
