While all of this social anarchy is taking place across the globe, I keep going back to this Orthodox Christian commentary from 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2. It's extremely important because most Christians (at least western) think the Holy Spirit is the restrainer, but IMO it is social order/government. Why is that important?

In what sense, though, was the Roman Empire the restraining force holding back the revelation of the antichrist? For the Roman Empire and its emperor have fallen, the last Roman Byzantine Emperor ending his rule with the fall of Constantinople in 1453. It would appear that St. Paul was thinking, not so much of the Roman Empire per se, but the established social order and security it represented in his day.

It was not the emperor in himself, but what he embodied, that held the antichrist at bay. For the antichrist would arise from the ashes of social anarchy, perhaps promising to restore lost order and save the world from unthinkable chaos. As long as societal order stood firm (represented and embodied in St. Paul’s day by the Roman Empire), the man of lawlessness had no chance to seize power and seduce the world. It was only after the collapse of all social order that he could arise.

That is taking place currently. The pieces are almost in place and frankly, I was waiting on Israel as the final piece to fall.
