See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (Matthew 24:4-7). |

Not saying I am one of those folks because I am usually aware a solid 3-4 days in advance. But I digress. |

Here in Northwest Indiana, the temp is supposed to rise this afternoon, and we have a possibility of damaging winds and a minor tornado. Here is what we had 10 years ago, in my old neighborhood. It touched down across the street from my middle daughters house, which was right across the alley from my old house. It went across the bike trail, hit the high school and threw the concession stand building in the middle of the street, and continued for about 2-3 more miles, ripping off roofs, busting windows, throwing trees on cars, a real mess. My daughter lost her roof and siding, but her and my grandkids were OK. We only had some fence damage, and broken tree branches at my house. This vid is when it hit the park 2 blocks from our homes. The real action starts at 3:40. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

User ID: 80223992 United States 03/26/2023 02:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded central Louisiana through central and southern Mississippi and Alabama to a Moderate Risk for hail and tornadoes this afternoon and evening. [link to www.spc.noaa.gov (secure)] Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1133 AM CDT Sun Mar 26 2023 Valid 261630Z - 271200Z ...THERE IS A MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PORTIONS OF LOUISIANA/MISSISSIPPI/ALABAMA... ...SUMMARY... Episodic severe thunderstorms will persist into tonight across a broad portion of the Deep South/Southeast States. A few strong tornadoes and very large hail may occur with the most intense storms, particularly from central Louisiana across central/southern portions of Mississippi and Alabama this afternoon and evening. ...Deep South/Southeast... Some severe potential, mostly in the form of hail/wind, may continue early this afternoon across the South Carolina Piedmont/southern North Carolina. This environment also remains conditionally favorable for a few severe storms to the west across southeast Mississippi, south-central Alabama, into west-central Georgia near the effective front. This sub-regional corridor may be experiencing a bout of shortwave ridging, but that at the same time, the boundary layer will continue to diurnally destabilize. Focus then quickly turns farther west to the potential for deep convective development along the northward-shifting boundary from east/southeast Texas into Louisiana, which could potentially occur relatively early, during early/mid-afternoon. See Mesoscale Discussion 354 for more short-term details. Low-level shear/SRH will not initially be strong but strengthen through late afternoon/early evening as 850mb/1-2 km AGL winds increase and low-level hodographs enlarge. Storms, including initially semi-discrete/intense supercells, will tend to cluster/gradually grow upscale along the boundary with hail/wind potential, but an increased concern for tornadoes, some of which may be strong/intense (EF2+), would exist with supercells that evolve/persist in a semi-discrete manner south of the boundary and move into and/or develop across south-central/southeast Mississippi, and eventually southwest/southern Alabama this evening as 850mb/1-2 km AGL winds further intensify. |

User ID: 80223992 United States 03/26/2023 02:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Today's action will likely occur across much more heavily populated areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and western Georgia, than did occur on Friday evening. SO if any major severe supercells form and track eastward they could impact far more people than Friday. That's always a BIG IF with individual storms. But many people are not likely paying attention to the weather today. We shall see. Dixie Alley evening coming up. After dark tornadoes. |

It is crazy how within the span of 10 minutes it goes from impending doom, to destruction, to sunshine. We were not under any kind of severe storm warning when this happened. That was the crazy part about all this. We had a thunderstorm watch, that was it. We were watching the sky out the back window which faced my daughters house across the alley, when suddenly it got dark and green, and the wind started howling immediately. This tornado just popped up suddenly out of nowhere, literally. I didn't have time to get down the basement. My husband and my youngest had run down the basement with the one dog, and I was 3 steps down with the other dog when it hit. I remember my back windows were just pulsating. It was slow motion to me, but yet it all happened so fast. It was like being in an episode of the Twilight Zone ! Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |
