Learn some history. Jamestown and Plymouth were ports with British military on them. OVER FOUR HUNDRED YEARS AGO. Fort Western followed soon after.

NOT QUITE! The first British port in the U.S. that was occupied by their troops was established at Boston in 1630 - which was not "over 400 years ago."

Both Jamestown and Plymouth were civilian settlements fleeing the tyranny of the British crown and military. And none of them are considered to be "ancient."

Anyway, 400 years is just an arbitrary construct. The term “ancient” could apply to three hundred years ago, by which time there were many places here which could be considered “army port sites” staffed British military.
