Why do we think that God will easily forgive the sins that we are committing? While hoping that God will punish the sins committed by others.

Why do we think that God will easily forgive the sins that we are committing? While hoping that God will punish the sins committed by others.
For example, I confess

While shopping, I sometimes sneakily put a candy bar in my pocket and think to myself, "It's just a minor sin, God will forgive me."

When I see a promiscuous woman, I curse her and think that she will be punished by God. Meanwhile, I lock the door and watch pornography while masturbating, telling myself, "Since I don't have a woman, this is my substitute. God will forgive me." It's easy to think like that, right?

Why is it so easy to give ourselves many convenient excuses, but not others?

I asked ChatGPT

Cognitive dissonance: When we behave in ways that conflict with our beliefs or values, we experience cognitive dissonance, which is a state of psychological discomfort. To reduce this discomfort, we may rationalize our behavior by making excuses or justifications. This can make it easier for us to accept our own wrongdoings while also judging others for the same behavior.

Self-serving bias: We tend to view our own behavior more positively than that of others. This bias can lead us to make excuses for ourselves while holding others to higher standards.

Attribution bias: We often attribute our own behavior to situational factors, while attributing the behavior of others to their personality or character. This can make it easier for us to justify our own behavior while blaming others for theirs.

Social norms: We may also be influenced by social norms that discourage us from admitting our own mistakes or faults, while encouraging us to hold others accountable for their actions.

It’s fun to throw a stone at others and watch them suffering until it’s your turn. What goes around comes around. When you spread hate (input hate to the universe) that’s exactly what you’ll get back.

People may feel a sense of relief when they see others' sinning because it reminds them of their own blessings or privileges. When we see someone going through a difficult time, it can serve as a reminder that our own problems may not be as bad in comparison. This can provide a sense of relief and gratitude for what we have in our own lives.

If you're really interested in the word of God, I recommend reading the bible or even searching online for the answer to your question. Faith in Jesus, that Christ died for our sins, is the only way to salvation. Nothing a person does can save them. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, so we might live an eternal life. God judges us, but our salvation is only through faith in Jesus. God tells us that vengeance is His. He will punish the wicked according to His will.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

15: 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day

Perhaps it's because people don't understand that the sinner is expected to turn away from those sins! What was it Jesus would say - go and sin no more?

Hebrews 10:26 - For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

the people who rule you are completely, totally amoral. they set up an entire system of money slavery to exploit you, the idea of sin is for YOU, the slaves, not for them.

so then you ask yourselves, how in the hell do they get along with each other if they are so awful? because YOU are the substitute punishment for all their sins against each other. whatever they do against each other, can always be recouped with a good money raping of the slaves. In fact, that is the basic concept expressed in the bible. you kill your poor baby goat to atone for your sin against another, it suffers the punishment for you. just like Jesus suffers the punishment for their sins against you.

the part you don't understand is the wizards who control your world DO understand what 'god' is. they know it's THEM,it's their WILL that is being done via the supernatural mechanism of the universe, ...which I might add, they do not fully understand themselves. They just know what works and what doesn't, they understand the principles are as certain as the laws of physics. and yet. the laws of physics themselves can somehow bend to the will

God is full or mercy if you go to Him with a repentant heart. I think the secret is to not take pride in the sin, and try not to sin no more.

Humans are flawed, weak, sinful by nature. We are created with survival instincts like animals. God calls us to rise up from our animalistic nature.

I think not! If only they'd take some time out of their busy schedules to actually READ the Bible, they'd know better!

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

As for the candy thief, prayer may be in order!

Proverbs 30:7 Two things I ask of you;
deny them not to me before I die:
8 Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with the food that is needful for me,
9 lest I be full and deny you
and say, “Who is the Lord?”
or lest I be poor and steal
and profane the name of my God.

I’ll let the scriptures speak on this.

Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

I John 2:4
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
