Oh yes, this is a recording live to cassette so bad quality..the cassette is all I have.But good for pointing this out.

It's a damn good song, just needs to be mixed. I saw your comment about it being recorded live to a cassette, so under that consideration, I think this is really good. The vocals are a little flat in some areas, but it's honestly nothing that couldn't be fixed with a few more takes/comps. It's solid if you get recorded and mixed professionally imo.

It’s good. Good enough. The video is a bit too slow for me. At four minutes, it’s a long song with that video.

Sounds good, cool ideas.

Needs mixing and a little production help but it's a good tune.

I would try to make it sound fuller, even though it's a sparse arrangement.

I would try to capitalize on that bass line, add some ambient synth pads or something to fill it out... maybe try a different reverb on the vocals.

We did not have wav files in the 80s.. but I am a tech wiz hence here it is..from a crappy cassette..
so I will tell you what happened.
We recorded this in Sheffield England,at Cabaret Voltaire's studio I could not afford to pay the guy for the quarter inch tape... this was a guide vocale on cassette .. the quarter inch .. I could not afford.. I was only 20 yrs when I wrote and recorded this.

We never got to mixing stage.. this is as is with me just doing a guide vocal.....

How did you upload it to youtube... whatever audio is attached to that video is what I am talking about.

I took it from the original cassette from the early 80s.. I should have had it baked by rights but managed to rip it anyway... did some mix in cubase and put it on youtube...

You should upload whatever you exported from cubase to google drive, dropbox, or whatever file sharing service you prefer.

I'll see if I can master it, would be fun... if not, no worries.

Yes, what you are hearing is just a guide vocal that happend to be recorded.. I don't have the main vocal track.

Anyway at the end of the day, I am writing a new album..and the vocals will be clear and nicely mixed..

It's amazing what you can produce in your twenties...listening back.
