Re: SUCCESS! So proud today! I am out of debt!
I’m 5 million in debt. Let me tell you, I live a terrible life. I can’t wait to take out another 5 mill of debt. Some people just don’t know how to use debt to turn it into income. Op turned it into an ex wife. I guess $13k isn’t that much tk learn that lesson…

Re: SUCCESS! So proud today! I am out of debt!
It took years, and I struggled to live frugally during all that time.

Well, it paid off...because everything has been PAID OFF!

I have a lot of credit available now, but I'm not going to let that tempt me to use it. The frugal lifestyle has become a habit, so it will continue; allowing for my ability to save money in this wacked out uni-party globalist economy.

It's a great feeling! So...
Official GLP congratulations:

I have a -0- credit rating. Never knew there was such a thing until I had -0- debt for a few years. On a nearly daily basis, I am prodded to some sort of credit/debt or another. I think I have all I need, and if I choose differently, I buy it cash. No wolves badgering me for this or that. Enjoy what you have accomplished. The peace is worth it.

I have never believed in getting into debt but I'm glad you ended your oppression from that monster. It feels good to not owe anyone.

First off...I cannot believe anyone thought my post was pin worthy, but it's kinda neat...especially seeing it that it got pinned after downing four doubles! So thanks for the pin!

And I appreciate all the laudatory comments. I hung around for the flames. What happened to them? Zero Juan Starrs after so many minutes? 5-stars all round? I must be dreaming. Is this still the GLP I've grown to know and love?

Re: SUCCESS! So proud today! I am out of debt!
Student loan or mortgage?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 85247889

No. And I hate admitting to the reason for the debt, but oh well. Why not?

I took on $13,000 of debt over the course of three years (2017-2020) to please my new wife...who in 2020 became my ex.

Unfortunately, all that debt was in my name, so yeah.

I did get the privilege and satisfaction of throwing her out, however. That was a really good day like today is. The debt wasn't the only thing in my name. The apartment lease was, too. She tried using the police to stay, but I whipped out that lease and out the door with her stuff she went.

The very next day, I had a yard sale and liquidated all our belongings. I used that money to get a divorce, and in the end...she got nothing at all from it. I had sold it all (which you can legally do if you're still married).

So it's been almost three years of paying off that debt and surviving as the economy tanked.

I’m not all about financing life, but do you people work? I mean, at some point you have to finance things to leverage your money, and how do you assure yourself you can float your overhead cost of life and living? You bust your ass and work hard for yourself. Every day you have no choice but to go out there and make money and continue to scale up to increase revenues so you can experience life in all its entirety. It actually becomes a thrilling journey knowing you have go earn it so you can keep it. It’s separated the wheat from the chaff, the winners from the losers.

Yes. It took that long. But consider that I had to replace stuff I had sold. I was paying just over the minimum amount on my credit during that time, which lasted about a year.

2021 rolled around and inflation began to take off. I'm not rich, and my dollar power got hammered, but I committed myself to aggressively paying that debt off, which left me in a precarious financial position month-to-month.

Tonight, everything's cool. I'll no longer be living paycheck to paycheck...as soon as the next paycheck comes in.

Great job, OP. Don't ever acquire any debt, again.
In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.

“Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.”

– Nasseim Haramein, Director of Research for the Resonance Project

Normalize every aberrant behavior, bring common all deviancy and let fly the reins of morality and reason, then welcome in that utopia that liberals embrace called communism, that which most Americans with but a shard of ethic would immediately recognize as evil.

I work. I used to be deep in the rat race; had a lot of money, got beat to shit by the 2007 - 2011 collapse, got teeth kicked in by embezzling people I thought were friends, some family members turned out to be money whores, wife left (too much stress), many friends left (I couldn't afford to keep buying their company), lost most of my money, homes, land, etc. Now I live sparingly, invest carefully, enjoy what's left of my family and friends, and read a ton. I'm good for now. What the future brings is anyone's guess.

I can save anywhere from $400 to $500 a month now.

In six months, I can replace that full mattress with a new king bed with all the bells and whistles and pay for it with cash.

The last three years have been miserable. The news, the economy, my life...everything has just sucked.

There is actually some hope that at least my quality of life will be better soon, so now I'm praying that all the other big problems out in the world don't inflame to a point where getting a good night's sleep on a decent bed becomes a wasted wet dream.
