Why flowers have lost their scent
"Pollution is stifling the fragrance of plants and preventing bees from pollinating them – endangering one of the most essential cycles of nature, writes Environment Editor Geoffrey Lean

Researchers say that pollution is dramatically cutting the distance travelled by the scent of flowers

Pollution is dulling the scent of flowers and impeding some of the most basic processes of nature, disrupting insect life and imperilling food supplies, a new study suggests."

It is not just the flowers losing their scent, the ocean does not have the "ocean" smell anymore, and has not for years.

Once upon a time, when going to the beach, one could smell the ocean before you ever heard the breakers. People called it the smell of salt air, or salt water. Not any more.

What happened to the smell of the ocean?

I'm on the Atlantic side.

As people grow older, they don't smell as good.

My flowers are just fine, they smell like awesome. Not too mention Natural Bee's are just fine, but the man made bee's are dieing. Wasps do the same job as bee's too fearmonger.

They have been hybridized to last longer, have bigger blooms, and be more draught tolerant and disease and bug resistent, when you do that scent goes out the window.

I took horticulture, a really good example is old fashioned english roses, they smell great, are small and tons of thorns, short stems, etc. Now compare it to one at the florist.
